Free mod has begun to establish it's own universe.
This reminds me much about Battlestargatactica online, the only problem I see is that you can only have 6 players max.
he can always make the AI control multiple ships.

Does this work for multiplayer matches? also is there to know where you are going through the gates? like is the name of the map in the name or..? and will this map be preset or randomly generated?
This is an application of active campaign, but it still can be done in mutiplayer game, while the method will be quite different.
The maps are preset, different gate, different map:)
