Homeworld : Blue Planet aims at transposing the Blue Planet fan-universe as depicted in the Age of Aquarius and War in Heaven mods for FreeSpace 2, into a Real Time Strategy setting, using the Homeworld 2 engine. This mod is a Total Conversion using assets made by the Freespace Upgrade Project, the Blue Planet Team and the HW@ Team, with the authorization and support of their respective authors.

digg you design but i have a little issue with the armaments.

in the description the loadout is a little bit overkill.
3 types of cannons (i guess short, medium and long range)
2 types of missiles ( medium and short )
1 torpedo (against light capital and frigates)

Thats just to much for a fighter, even an air supremacy fighter.

my advice is to make 3/4 types of fighter/bombers and not one "jack of all trades" fighter

P.S. also i am waiting for a more stealth sreamlined figher from you. please make ky dream come true.

You should play Blue Planet before questioning the loadout. Believe me, it is perfectly balanced for its role and purpose, and it is quite an expensive design to produce. And I don't make the designs, I just convert the ships.

there aren't 3 cannons, 1 anti subsystem weapon(archer), two anti fighter weapons (1 projectile+1 energy weapon, the missiles while having different ranges have two different purposes, and yes you are right on the torpes.

Description

The Uriel assault fighter is the mainstay gunship class of the Federation and the most indispensable element of its fighter corps. Heavy armour and a devastating frontal array of cannons makes the Uriel the premier weapons platform against large, slow-moving targets. Uriels excel in various mission profiles ranging from airstrikes on ground targets to full-scale assaults against cruiser assets to heavy fighter or turret suppression. The fighter is also equipped with an underslung heavy long-range gauss cannon, further increasing its weapons potential. The low manoeuvrability and top speed of the Uriel limits its effectiveness in dogfights, but some pilots have learned to compensate for these shortcomings. When deployed in full squadron strength, Uriels can dominate an entire battlespace with Slammer fire. The GTVA has faced down the threat of the Uriel by simply destroying as many as possible through massed Trebuchet fire, and unfortunately for the Federation, the Uriel is growing scarce to the point where it can only be deployed in vital situations.

Standard loadout consist of a dual bank of SCWS-10 Gattler fast-firing mass drivers, a hexa bank of SCWS-6 Rapier primary cannons and the spinal SCWS-21 Archer long-range gauss cannon, as well as GES-3 Dart heat-seeking swarm missiles, GES-10 Slammer area-suppression missiles, and GES-23 Warhammer Swarm Torpedoes.
