use (view original) to see the background a bit better, doesn't look as good here as in game obviously but whatever.

anyway this is one of the 2 or 3 dozen maps I plan on having.

Again, all of mine are (BF)<map name> and for 6 player if you want less than 6 just close player slots

but doesn't Neptune have 2 stripes of a darker blue on top and bottom of the planet?

BTW the battle on this map will take place around the planet as it is not simply a background. I'd say that is better than a background personally :P

I agree completely, but what if you can capture planets (not gas giants) and can build ships up to a corvette (because gravity should realistically break things apart that are any bigger). all of that with planetary subsystems that are either offensive, defensive, and or sensor things.

PS. i know that A LOT of WORK, but after i saw this again, the idea slapped me in the face.
