"In The Grim Darkness Of The Far Future There Is Only War" Warhammer 40k is set in a Universe where no one is safe from the horrors of space. The Imperium of man struggles to hold its borders or protect its citizens from the the alien, the mutant and the heretic. The human race is no longer a progressive race, most of the weapons and vehicles they use date back to the "Dark age of Technology" long before the days of the Emperor. Technological advance is at standstill and much has been forgotten, never to be recovered. In this dark millenia danger lurks behind every corner, and it is the holy duty of the Inquisition to guard and purge the threats within and without the Imperium. Take the role of Malachias Kane, Young Inquisitor under the command of Lord Inquisitor Dante, warring agains the notorious Chaos sorcerer Bathomeos. It is your mission to rendevouz with allies, and deliver the final piece to the plan to bring the Chaos scum under the Emperor's hammer.
Had this little detailing spree just now and thought to share the results. Marines of the Green Dragons chapter wear highly ornamented armor and this is how the idea transforms into 3D.
Great work, but there is one problem. Yes it may look unique and beautiful, but its not really practical in battle, marine will have to decorate armor every time after the battle, because armor gets damaged and decorations can be easily erased from the bullet hits or other weapons. Well if you want to decorate whole armor, try not speckle it with all stuff, because it'll more look like museum exhibit than battle armor. Well Good Luck ;)
Ah, it seems you've never read the Lore behind these Space Marines. This is just fine. One of the Rites of the Marines is to make sure their armor is ready for battle, no matter how trashed it became from the previous battle.
Anyhow, it looks pretty sweet.
Thank you lukaluka for your input for you are partly correct here! Indeed the decorations wear off easily, but they also look impressive on battlefield or in a meeting room, inspiring allies and terrifying the heretics who defy the Imperium.
Besides Marines are impressive sight so why not take it a step or two farther. The thing with Space Marine power armor is that they kinda are museum exhibits, most of the hundreds of years old so they have some reason to be decorated..
Also decorations and such vary from chapter to chapter and there are others with great deal of ornamentation and stuff on them so it isn't unusual. With Green Dragons its their "thing" that makes them stand out from other chapters battlegear :D
Edit: MightyZuex has a point too!
Hmm yes i understand now what you mean, what i said in my last post is more from a practical view. Well than, dont add too many flower decorations, unless you want them to look like pretty marines lol.
Haha, no flowers I promise. :D:D
This looks awesome, you should (because you have a 40k avatar) know that Marines spend most of their free time with decorating stuff, and why not their armor? I meen there's even a machine gost in there, so why not do something like this? It looks really like 40k, of course this should be a veteran marine, but then it's just perfect, I love the detail.
Normal marines DON'T have permission to modify their armor, unless that they are high rank or recieved any kind of honor or something.
space marines? free time?
the warriors of the emperor have no time to be free, they are the warriors who always do their duty of PURGING and KILLING and FREEING the mankind of emperor from HERETICS ALIENS MUTANTS
I have an old codex that says that their free time is spent doing small statues etc. devoted to the Emperor. And why shouldn't they be? I mean they have a realationship with the machine ghost, so why not?
