Technological advance is at standstill and much has been forgotten, never to be recovered. In this dark millenia danger lurks behind every corner, and it is the holy duty of the Inquisition to guard and purge the threats within and without the Imperium. Take the role of Malachias Kane, Young Inquisitor under the command of Lord Inquisitor Dante, warring agains the notorious Chaos sorcerer Bathomeos. It is your mission to rendevouz with allies, and deliver the final piece to the plan to bring the Chaos scum under the Emperor's hammer.

What if the autocannons looked more like a Hydra setup?

Still pretty awesome regardless.

Hydras are definitely not out of the picture! Just felt like we could use something different too.

Hydra needs somewhat more space than a compact turret slaved to a master sensory array and isn't so handy where we're putting these. Other places could house Hydras too tho! Hydras are Neat.

I wonder if we could place a player usable Hydra emplacement somewhere along the story.. Gotta discuss this possibility. :D

IIRC Hydra turrets are sometimes mounted on a stationary platform, instead of a chimera chassis.

Just the turret mounted on a ground platform wouldn't take up much more space than this.

We are familiar with hydras, no need to point out the obvious :p

That's why it indeed takes only "somewhat" more room.

Just making sure. :P
A suggestion I thought of a little while after writing the first post;
Maybe change the turret system to heavy stubbers, since one setup of quad auto cannons would have the same firepower as another, thereby reducing the overlap. Save the Hydra emplacement for bigger targets, and use heavy stubbers for either a compact turret, or multiple turrets for volume of fire.

They could be Stubbers well enough. Doesn't really matter as long as they look menacing enough. :D As Hydra is the basic AA system in Imperial tech, we'll use it too. Don't worry.
