Hey people! Today we require your help. We created some new models but have absolutely no idea of coding. To insert new monsters you need the Hl SDK what is no problem so far but since we're building on a Op4 mod we can't include the Opposing Force monsters. Unfortunately our own coding knowledge is very limited. So we can't include the Op4 monsters manually.

So if you're a coder with C++ knowledge (that's the script language used in Hl1.) and have some free time + the wish to assist us then please contact me here on mobbb just write me a private message and I will answer shortly. Due to our storyline it was clear that we needed some custom monsters  but without a Coder we are forced to think on something else. The quality of the entire mod is at stake. So please if one of you like to help us or know someone who could help then please contact me.

The coders only task would it be to make sure that the new mod Dll. is running and to include some new reskinned models like the Blackop Zombie below. So it isn't that much work for a real coder I guess.

In other news: We did again some nice progress. 2 more maps are finished and a third map is on it's way. Enjoy the screenshots below. 2 Pictures will show some map areas and one picture shows our new Blackop Zombie which we can't include yet without a coder.

You guys have got a problem then: Gearbox never released the Opposing Force code. Therefore, if you need coded extras then a programmer is going to need to start with the fresh HL1 SDK, recode the entities for Opposing Force (assuming you still want things like night vision, ropes, race X, new weapons etc) and then code the things you need. Good luck with it though.

Yea, this is quite a problem. The guys at Sven Coop managed to code some of the Opposing Force monsters and weapons into Half-life, so it's definitely possible.. Though I doubt they would be willing to help.

That's the big problem indeed. We would do it by our own if it would be that easy.

I just hope that maybe someone is reading this who allready created a stand alone op4 mod and still has the sources. Otherwhise it's like I wrote in the news the mod wont get custom models. It will be a simple mappack then if we don't get another choice.

I was thinking.. Do you know how the grunts have different heads? Well, for the models there are different groups, such as heads and bodies.. I might be able to make the models into a different body group rather than a separate model. The fgd will then require a bit of editing, but it's better than recreating the Opposing Force code.. I'm not really sure how this works though, it will most likely be really buggy, so don't count on it. But I will give it a try.

You would be able to use Opposing Force still, and all the weapons from it.

You doesn't need a coder. Attach this model as submodel to soldier's zombie model, and change FGD file (as we did it for SAd).
