This mod aims to replace or improve textures in game with new high resolution work while retaining the original feeling and color palette of the game. Characters in game will be given much higher variety of uniforms, equipment and decals which will allow for much deeper experience for those who want to revisit the game or play it for the first time after long time. The textures are redone using original ones as base whenever possible (most are still nice and have at least basic realism) to retain original design, but all textures are upscaled to twice (or more) of original resolution, sharpened, and have decals either redrawn, or replaced with as much reverence to realism as possible. In effect the skins are extra realistic, but also don't look out of place - everything is done as to not ruin the original scene background and color palette that has been developed specially for SPR and MoHAA.
The actual 1.0 version release of Hi-Res Realism Remake Mod for MoH:AA. Contains full remake of weapons and characters' textures, variety of randomized NPCs for every level, and few minor changes to rebalance of the gameplay. Changelog in the description.
- re-added parts of game that were removed in re-release - courtesy of Unofficial Patch addon (check them on moddb for source), this contains few missing animations, including enemies sieg-heiling you when undercover, and some missing lines of dialogue;
- randomized enemies scripts now added for all missions and levels, and existing randomized enemy sets are further readjusted and perfected;
- added more variants and combinations of equipment to each NPC character and rank, now combinations of ranks, uniforms and equipment can go into hundreds;
- added more texture variants to some of characters, both allied and axis: different versions and ranks for US Airborne, feldgrau uniforms variety and ranks to Waffen SS, new camouflage variant for SS (platanenmuster camo smock), etc;
- added proper winter uniforms for US soldiers in multiple types and variants;
- German winter uniforms were also increased in variety, some retextured with snow effect;
- German faces textures were edited to portray real-life 1940s' German haircuts; in vanilla game half of characters had buzzcut haircut - now they were remade to have the proper regulation undercuts, with buzzcut being very rare now
- player model changes each mission - this means changing sleeves in first person (eg. you will have winter jacket and gloves in winter mission), but also proper player models for each missions in case you'd want to play the game using 3rd person view command;
- slightly readjusted the loadout balance further. Player starts with less ammo to incentivise picking up items, also changed amount of ammo taken from grenade boxes - they only give 3 grenades now instead of replenishing entire inventory;
- in undercover missions player receives captured german P38 pistol together with uniform, on second slot of his Hi-Standard silenced; also P38 is given in m4l3 (Paper Chase/The Command Post);
- player no longer loses binoculars after m4l1, and in mission 5 the binoculars are added to aid in surveing the area, to make up for Springfield's low scope magnification;
- new type of gasmask enemies are added in mission 6, Fort Schmerzen mustard gas facility;
- some of lower-quality wall pictures were remade in high resolution, using works of european classical painters;
- and probably some more changes I forgot to list.
======================================================================================
ATTENTION: This mod contains multiple parts. It changes visuals on models of SP and MP characters and does it primarily via modification of .tik files. It also modifies the scripts, both global and of individual missions. That means it might be hard to merge with other mods. Make sure other mods you use are not colliding with that.
For merges there will later be a "lite" version with textures only.
The mod is also not ready for SH and BT. If you want to use it on BT and SH, add it to mainta and maintt folders. For SH and BT, you will have to leave out the pack3 since it might go into conflict with scripts.

1. This mod was called "Realism Texture Mod" but it does more than that. It was in my utmost care to preserve the original feeling and atmosphere of the game how it was planned to be, but some aspects of game were altered to give a fresher, more re-playable experience than vanilla game.
All textures of uniforms, gear, weapons and part of items were remade or altered, and whole new variety of factions was added. Game will now look better while retaining the original palette of original aesthetic design that was created by Steven Spielberg and his team.
==================================================
2. Changes. Among others:
- Added variants of historical uniforms and gear to all factions in game,
- Some existing textures were remade in higher resolution,
- Rebalanced some of missions to more challenging but balanced experience - readjusted accuracy of enemy and friendlies, weapons stats and damage, and spawns on certain maps,
- Added model randomizer to all missions, which now will give different enemies with each playthrough (while keeping in borders of historical accuracy),
Gameplay changes:
- in undercover missions the player no longer loses uniform after his cover is blown - but also now the uniform item is removed from inventory, remaining only visually, to remove AI bugs;
- in every mission player receives proper uniform for his area and task: both standard summer uniforms, and winter attire for winter missions
- small changes in levels design: for example music was changed in levels m2l2c and m6l1c since it used pieces already used multiple times throughout the game, they were switched out for pieces that were in OST but were unused for some reason. Tracks added: "Radar Train" in m2l2c, "Kleveburg" in m6l1c in stealth portion and "Nordhausen" in 2nd part (after blowing up the facility). In m6l2b the music in first portion was removed to give place to snowy park's atmospheric ambient, and only comes in 2nd part of mission (after player reaches the train tracks).
- starting loadout was edited, now player starts with less ammo - this is to incentivise player to save ammo for some of more powerful weapons, as well as to make picking up ammo items actually useful (in vanilla game it was basically impossible to run out of ammo);
- in some of undercover missions with Hi-Standard Silenced pistol player receives P38 pistol as proper sidearm for firefights;
- in final levels of mission 2 player receives Kar98k and P38 to have a chance of using these weapons, Hi-Standard and Springfield are still retained in slot 2 when needed; Walther P38 is also given to player in mission 5 (Paper Chase) and mission 6 level 1c (Die Sturmgewehre);
- all weapons were rebalanced to fit better their historical characteristics, including Hi-Standard Silenced pistol. It means that now this weapon is no longer OP instant-kill tool that it was in vanilla game. It is still more powerful than how it was IRL, it now has same damage as 9x19 weapons, but still it might feel weak to some players. Remember that you need to isolate targets and score a headshot to be sure of kill and not allow enemy to alarm others. Despite how it turned out in vanilla, the levels are still designed in such way that you always have option to isolate enemies, close in from behind and score a headshot. This pistol is still usable, you just have to be careful now instead of playing it like scopeless sniper like it was before;
- enemy soldiers in mission 1 may now spawn with MP40s (previously this weapon was only used by few NCOs, officers and few enemies in last mission);
- levels m3l2 and m3l3 have been rebalanced on higher difficulties. Enemies have higher accuracy (~80%), but so do friendlies. This should incentivise player to actually work with friendlies who will now be useful. However, the mission is still completely possible to finish alone, it's just moved to be on difficulty level of missions 5 and 6, so if you are able to finish the game on hard you will have no problems with these missions either
And much more.
Full changelog will be published later.
==================================================
This mod uses the above mentioned addons. These scripts allow for better experience, but they might bring some bugs on their own. If you see problems with AI, enemies behavior etc check CorpseStay readme. Reports of such bugs send to me.
One known bug with CorpseStay is that enemies might keep warning of grenades ("granate!", "in deckung!" etc) after death if they were killed by grenades - it was already reported to Smithy, we just have to wait on that.
==================================================
3. As mentioned before, weapons were rebalanced. You must remember this will slightly alter the gunplay and your tactics might have to change.
Short list of changes:
- Colt M1911: damage 34 - kills in 3-4 shots, good accuracy on first shot but high recoil,
- Walther P38: damage 30 - kills in 4-5 shots, slightly less accurate than M1911 but has lower recoil, so will be more precise in rapid fire,
- Hi-Standard Silenced: damage 30 - kills in 4 shots, very accurate
- MP40: damage 30 - kills in 4-5 shots, rate of fire reduced to historical ~500RPM, good accuracy and very low recoil - accurate even in long bursts, best weapon for medium range,
- Thompson: damage 34 - kills in 3-4 shots, mediocre accuracy and medium recoil, relatively heavy weight - strongest weapon in close range but will quickly lose out on range, heavier weight also makes you slower than with MP40
- M1 Garand: damage 90 - kills in 2 shots. High accuracy but recoil might throw off shots if you shoot too fast.
- Kar98k: damage 100 - kills in 1 shot (stronger enemies in 2 shots). Very high accuracy, light weapon = can move fast.
- Springfield: damage 100 - kills in 1 shot (stronger enemies in 2 shots). 2.5x scope means the magnification is weaker.
- Kar98k sniper: damage 100 - kills in 1 shot (stronger enemies in 2 shots). Better on range since it has higher magnification.
Both sniper rifles got movement speed nerf removed, player will run just slightly slower than with standard rifles.
- BAR: damage 90 - kills in 2 shots. High accuracy, medium-high recoil might throw off shots when firing in bursts but with more skill it is possible to control the recoil. Weapon with strongest firepower output, but since it's very heavy you will move slowly with it.
- StG44: damage 50, kills in 2-3 shots. Rate of fire reduced to historical ~500RPM which gives it lower recoil, accurate on all but longest ranges, medium movement speed (like Thompson). Basically, like a typical assault rifle, the most universal weapon in game.
- Shotgun: now shoots proper WWII load of 9-pellet buckshot, each deals 33dmg (=297dmg potential). Spread was greatly reduced to realistic levels, range was increased. Very powerful on close-medium range.
- Bazooka and Panzerschreck: explosive splash of rockets was increased, they should now be usable as tool to dispatch enemies in cover and buildings.

The full version is finally out! Well done and thank you Czwarty!
I'm sure this isn't the last update, can't wait to see what you have in store for us... *winks at expansions*, which I'm sure will take a lot of time, because of the new nations and weapons, but quality over quantity, as they say!
Thanks! Yeah, I'll probably start with expansions pretty soon:)
Take A Rest, Mate! You Deserved A Break
Just Saw it The Mod Has A Full Update And That's Satisfying Me A Lot!
The "Thank You" Word Will Be Always Below This Mod Page!

You gotta learn to turn auto caps off on your cellphone.
will there be any axis player mod for this one??
Mod actually makes the game insanely good, EXTREMELY MOIST to see what you do for breakthrough and spearhead. I would love to see Italian black shirts in your highly detailed accurate style.
Thank you! Yes the Italian faction will definitely need a good makeover all around
Great to see a full release of this fantastic mod!
However, I'm sorry to spoil the party a bit but, I'm having an issue where the game crashes when I try to load a game or view the characters in the multiplayer section.
It's also a bit confusing, since I took a working backup of the entire 'MOHAA folder' where I have V0.9.9.10 of the mod installed. And now that backup version has the same issues.
I'm trying to solve the issue, but if you have any suggestions, please let me know.
I'm using the GOG version.
EDIT: Just tried it with a fresh GOG install, and the same thing happens
If you have "autoexec.cfg" file in "main" folder, change "seta r_roundimagesdown" from 0 to 1 in that file.
YEP! That did the trick.
"seta r_roundimagesdown" from 0 to 1
Thanks!
Yeah seems like some change in settings maybe? Try the FreeMan's proposition, and if not maybe try downloading another config to see if it will help
This mod is nothing short of fantastic! Truly appreciate all the hard work that you do, and I look forward to what you have in store for Spearhead and Breakthrough! :D
I must point out one glaring bug though. The in-game subtitles and text are all jumbled up and broken. (Deleting the "fonts" folder in Pak 7 fixed this.)
Okay it's possible it's tied to screen resolution or something as it doesn't show up like this on my computer, I'll delete that part and reupload it soon
Congrats on the full release! I've been looking forward to trying this for too long!!!
Does this make enable higher resolution etc ,or do you still need to edit the cfg ?
Thank you.
No, this is unchanged, so it will need edited config file or one of community launchers - should work fine with these
The multiplayer skin 'Allied_SAS' is missing it's textures.
Yeah just got report of it yesterday, the test variant slipped through deletion - it's now removed and the file in download was updated yesterday.
The solution for those who downloaded old mod file before that is to just delete "allied_SAS.tik" from Pak1_models/models/player folder
Thanks for headsup still!
oh my god i cant believe there are still people modding this great and amazing underrated gem! thank you so much for this!!
Can we play cards in this mod?
Installed this on Windows 10 on a fresh install of GOG's War Chest version. When starting the game the loading screen freezes with the error "your hard drive is full, unable to save game". So I close the error and continue. Then during the training mission it freezes with the same error again whenever the game automatically saves. Therefore I can not continue.
I have over 10 TB free on my hard drive. The vanilla game, which is installed on a separate drive (because they have separate save files) does not give this error.
Any ideas ?
You should never install games in the suggested path C/: Programm Files. Install games anywhere else
They are not installed in the suggested path. I have numerous hard drives. One is installed to F:\MOHAA and the other to G:\MOHAA.
I never install games to Program Files.
Does the folder you have the game installed in (the one which has the error) have setting of "read only"? Or maybe is locked in read-only state? Try maybe creating a copy of that vanilla game from G:/ drive, in for example folder "MOHAA2" and then install the mod there. IIRC this game doesn't need registry keys for anything so you should be able to freely copypaste the game folder how many times you want and use it as test copy
Yes, the folder/subfolders were set to "read only" then I changed all that, yet the problem persists. Not sure how I would unlock it from a read only state. Perhaps a reboot ? My first attempt was to install the mod to a copy of the vanilla game but I had the error. So I decided to re-install the game on another drive completely and try it on a fresh install. Yet I still have the same outcome. Very odd. I'm baffled at this point.
Could it be because I'm using the "War Chest" version from GOG ? I think my next endeavor will be to hunt down my old discs and try to install to the original Allied Assault before the expansions were even thought of. That means I must go down in my cold clammy cellar and dig through boxes and totes that no human has seen in decades and get bitten by spiders as I catch pneumonia and die at a early age. I hope you feel guilty. HA! j/k. I'm just puzzled here.
Did you install it on the system partition, and also, is it in path that is straight like "disc:/folder"? Not like "disc:/games/mohaa"? I saw it being the same when I had second copy installed in path "C:/MoHAA", although my problem was only that the config didn't update.
I don't know what would be the solution, as I also tried to change that read-only state and failed to do so, it's like the system doesn't even let you change this setting to folders anymore. Try maybe to make another copy from that vanilla copy you have that you said works, like I proposed in previous comment, to make "MOHAA2" folder of it, and see if it would work from there. Or just try new install altogether, on alt partition, in secondary folder, just to be sure.
I honestly don't think it's a problem with GOG edition per se, more like just one of many minor incompatibilities that happen to 20-year old games when working on modern OS.
I also have multiple copies of that game on CD, from various editions, the only problem is that I don't even have CD drive in my laptop anymore... :) I want to finally buy an exo-CD drive, but constantly forget to finally do it
how do you make skins for this game? I want to make a Dutch skin
You just need any graphic program you like, Photoshop, Gimp, Photofiltre, and then add the finished skin texture into additional .pk3 files. Start out by analyzing vanilla textures and editing them to get a grasp of things. Also not sure what type of Dutch you want, but there are made models of Dutch Commando units (British battledress with Dutch insignia) I have somewhere, these were made for Operation Krugerland mod
is the multiplayer of this game back? I remember always playing team death match on the Gamespy client... how can i play it again?
IIRC there are still servers for it but default master server browser doesn't work due to GameSpy shutdown. You'll need to use alternatives for server browsing or manually insert server's IP to enter. You can google for solutions as there are multiple sites that touch that, there's a thread on x-null forum which has fix for game to use new master server browser, search "Medal of Honor Game Server Browser Fixer"
In my version they are not making the German salute, how can i get the uncensored version?
Well the uncensored content is already there in Pak7 file, so you already got it. Just to be sure, you reached mission 2 undercover section? To see the salute you need to be in mission where you're undercover, and encounter either soldier of rank below you (non-officer), or be done with presenting papers to paper-checking SS-men, then when you meet them again they will salute or greet you. Whether they will salute you then or just greet with saying "guten abend" is random so you might not see it every time
ok, thank you for the replay
Game crash when loading map.
Okay but we will need more information that that, what mission is that, does it crash on mission loading exactly or briefing? Can you enter training mission? Does crash give any log in console? Did you play MoHAA before on that computer, what's your specs and did you check some of solutions mentioned in above comments? And of course whether or not you had other mods installed in your game, either at the time or before
Game working perfect without this mod. Game crash on mission loading.
The game crashing can be a number of things...
You'll need to post more information, if there is to be any chance for a solution.
What information? Game just quit to desktop without any message.
Which version of the game are you running?
- CD, Origin, GOG, etc.
Do you have any other mods installed, and which?
- They might conflict with this mod.
What is in the "autoexec.cfg" file?
- For me it was the line "seta r_roundimagesdown" from 0 to 1.
Can you view all the characters in the multiplayer section?
- If not, probably another settings issue.
Have you tried starting a mission from new, without loading a previous save?
- Sometimes temp files cause issues when loading a save.
I have GOG and EA App versions. GOG version I use now. EA App version won't start.
I don' have any other mod installed.
What about the "autoexec.cfg" file in the main folder?

Hey uco73 !
Thanks to this mod, yesterday I passed the game to the end! Without any problem everything is running beautifully. :)
I noticed that in "autoexec.cfg" you lack resolution and you have these commands too much. Most of them are not needed. You can see that you copied the commands from the internet.
I will give you my best settings from the game with max graphics details and full resolution.
In the "main" folder you must have two files. The first is "autoexec.cfg" and the second is "newconfig.cfg".

If you have already done it as I wrote, then go to the "configs" folder and delete the "unnamedsoldier.cfg" file and then launch the game. It should all work!
Ps: One more thing.
In the file "autoexec.cfg" there are two commands like:
seta r_customwidth "1920"
seta r_customheight "1080"
These are the resolutions of the monitor. If your monitor does not support such high resolutions then change them for yourself to, for example, :
seta r_customwidth "1280"
seta r_customheight "1024"
or
seta r_customwidth "1680"
seta r_customheight "1050"
Anyway, check yourself what your monitor's max resolution is and then change/enter that. Everything should work fine.
Greetings
Hi, the mod doesn't have autoexec or ready-use cfg since I'm not sure whether it works on all setups the same, so for now I want to leave it blank to let everyone adjust it for themselves; some time ago other guys proposed to add one as optional addon so I'll just add it like that in patch
Hey czwarty. I understand, all right. Only I wrote this post to my friend , "uco73". , because he had a problem running the game. I wanted to help him. Because the game with my settings ,,commands'' works very well and with the best graphics. Instead of writing under his post, I wrote so generally. Maybe my mistake, I did not know how to write here in the forum. Sorry.
And I have such a question czwarty to you. When will you release the file with just textures for the game ? (lite version). I mean just the uniforms of soldiers for allied assault game.
Oh sorry, I just saw it as new comment and didn't remember the previous thread of comments, and as said I remember someone else asked this
About the Lite version yeah this will be my next aim, for now I'm fixing the detected bugs and adding few minor things that I didn't manage to get ready, I will release the final patch in maybe 2 weeks I think, and then start working on Lite. I hope I'll get it ready in next month
ok thanks for the reply. I'm already looking forward to it. :)
I will give you a way to get the best quality mohaa graphics.
If you have ,,nvidia geforce" graphics cards then this way is for you. :)
Go to NVIDA Control Panel - Manage 3D settings -> Program settings -> select mohaa.exe from the list or , "add" mohaa.exe
And below set it up for yourself.
Anisotropic filtering 16x (set)
Edge smoothing - mode, Replace application setting 4x (set)
After these settings, the game is smoothed, has smoothed edges and is sharpened. And secondly, it is very clear and has sharper textures. It looks very cool. If you have a fairly good fast graphics card, I recommend setting this.
:)
I've been meaning to ask. Is there a way to disable the blood stain effects on the floors, walls, etc when NPCs or the player take damage?
I don't mean disable the blood spurt when a bullet hits them. Just the stains.
The blood mod is contained in Pak2, probably the easiest would be to switch "blood_splat.tga" and "blood_splat2.tga" to blank textures, while keeping the remaining textures which are for hit effect. Path would be Pak2/textures/effects
Did exactly that, and it worked.
Thank you! :)
