Slight change of plan. The project is currently "On Hold". Now, I can still continue to map but there's a slight change. After mapping for a long time for COD series it's bound to reach limitations. I am not saying the features don't work, they do. However, the game does not like big maps and won't build properly. And of course the COD engine has lots of limitations. I encountered this several times and difficult to pinpoint the problem and solve it. I did say I can split the map into 2, but I would rather not. So I have decided to move on. It was nice to start with COD engine 9 years ago and now it's time to move on. So the project is currently on hold. I have started working with Unity3D to continue the project as a standalone game. I have to tell you, it's so much better. I only know the basics as of now but I know by far a standalone engine can do so much more. I do plan to finish the project. If I can fix the error, I can go back and continue but it's getting more and more frustrating. So I am moving on to use an engine. As a standalone game, I will provide features that I want, gameplay that I want, etc. I will include coop and a version of MP that I always wanted. I can put more maps into 1.
The project is in a way done b/c initially, it was supposed to be a trilogy, 3 parts. And episode 5 of part 3 is the last map. I only wanted to do 2 more parts is b/c I wanted some kinda of closure and back story. Part 4 is a back story and also a closure. Part 5 is another closure. I have the ideas set. I do want to finish all 5 parts.
So sorry to say, the project is on hold but I won't remove anything or progress I have. I am looking for more helpers, anyone with modelling skills, scripting (C#) skills, etc. for Unity3D.
I'll provide another update when things change.
Thanks for playing the series. I appreciate the followers and fans. Now, by no means the project is done or will be canceled. I like my projects and in no way they will be dead or finished prematurely. I always finish them. So please continue to support!
Thanks. And thanks to all my team members. You helped me a lot and will continue to help me lol. Either way, I appreciate the support.
