The first version of Half-Life: Top-Down, a mod that aims to make Half-Life play like a top-down shooter.
How to install
This installs like any normal Half-Life 1 mod
1) Find your Half-Life directory (if you don't know where it is, right click on Half-Life in steam, select properties, go to "local files", and then click "browse local files")
2) Put the folder in this zip in your Half-Life directory
3) Restart steam, and the game should appear in your library with the name "Half-Life: Top-Down"
Options
If you go to the Advanced tab in the options menu, there are a few parameters for how the camera works. I'll elaborate on what these do here.
Keep Camera in-bounds - When checked, the camera will try its best to stay inside of the level by adjusting it's height above the player. For instance, if the player walks from a room with a high ceiling to a room with a low ceiling, the camera will drop so it is always below the ceiling. The height of the camera never goes above the "Maximum Camera Height" and never goes below the "Minimum Camera Height"
Smooth Camera - When this and the above option are checked, the camera adjustment will be smoothed when it has to adjust to stay in bounds. Otherwise it will instantly snap to the height it needs to be at. This has no effect if the above option is not checked.
Max Camera Height - The camera never goes above this height, even if a ceiling is above it. If "Keep Camera in-bounds" is not checked, this will always be the height of the camera.
Minimum Camera Height - The camera never goes below this height, even if it's above a ceiling. This only has an effect when "Keep Camera in-bounds" is checked.
