Why? Both of them made by same company and It souldn't be illegal if the mod is free

LeonelC Mar 1 2012 replied:

It's illegal because you are giving for FREE some content that should be paid to have it :/

whoa, calm down little fanboy...

It stills illegal, why? because it's a law :)

And as a HL fan, HL2 is awful (thanks to anon, who stole the beta, and forced Valve to start all over again)

If you want, keep downvoting me, I don't care, it will not change everything, and porting HL2 models will still being illegal.

*facepalm* Hey, idiot, You need HL1 & 2 to play this. That's not giving free content because you need to buy the others for this mod to ******* work.

no its not you ******* incompetent morons. So long as the mod remain non for profit IE "FREE" it remains legal as per the

"""Free and fair use clause of the U.S. Copy Right Act,1976""".

******* hate it when you incompetent fools try to dictate what is and what isn't legal without any understanding of US law what so ever.

Regardless of how you feel on the subject the law is clear just get off your lazy ***** and Google it if you don't believe me >>

Also I really hate having to rant about this on a regular basis as it seems you people never learn ... we seriously need to get one of the site admins to deal with copyright issues as clearly none of you are qualified to deal with the subject.

LeonelC, it is illegal for you to transfer resources to GoldSrc source engine, but rather that when they make a port of COD4 or any other video game walk not bothering with that, let uncle, let yourself to bother with this, Valve does not lose anything, and you know that is so. Now also portage GoldSrc resources for source engine is illegal?

Already we have warned on I slam of the weapon. Though they have similar appearance, if they look at the original ones they are not as is. They are models based on them of HL2 and I have the permissions signed by Valve Soft. It is because of it that the group was not eliminated, since present I the above mentioned evidence, it is not necessary that they continue discussing the topic.

big problem there isnt any unique guns left unless you go out of the existing weapons in real world so there is the problem that a shotgun or i pistol wil just look the same as in a other game if that was iligal it would mean there wil be 1 game with the existing weapons and other people need to make fake weapons by the way how the heck can you check if the model was made allready that would take your hole life to find and play every game in the world finding out that everything has allready been used!
