Half-Life 2: Retaliation is a singleplayer Half-Life 2: Episode Two modification. It brings you into the familiar world of Half-Life 2 just as the antlion invasion of Nova Prospekt takes place. You step into the shoes of a notorious Rebel soldier who has been held captive in Nova Prospekt for months. During the invasion, he escapes his prison cell and goes on a long and violent mission to retaliate against the Combine, and aid the Resistance in the revolution. Travel through brand-new areas in Nova Prospekt, fight your way through three never-before-seen locations in the Half-Life 2 universe, witness the beginning of The Uprising, and ultimately carry out your retaliation.

Report RSS New Location: "The Shipyards"

In this new series of features, we are explaining some of the new areas we are adding to the mod. First off is "The Shipyards", the headquarters of the Civil Protection for City 17.

Posted by on

The Shipyards are the the central hub of all Civil Protection activities in City 17. As it settled on the outer rim of the city, you will see lots of new things and many different places getting to The Shipyards, as it will be your job to cripple the Civil Protection by destroying their headquarters.

Nestled in the old docks and ports of City 17, The Shipyards overlooks the sea and all the derelict ships still in port. It is clear that the sea level has decreased dramatically, but the ocean still looks as blue and endless as it always has. Guarded and patrolled frequently by Civil Protection Shocktroopers and occasionally Overwatch soldiers, anyone wishing to look for a fight will definitely get to find one in The Shipyards.

The outer complex and interior of the Civil Protection HQ building are well fortified, and heavily patrolled. Large, stone staircases, high walls and concrete barricades, and multiple guard stations deter intruders from breaching the facility. As a notorious criminal wanted by the Overwatch, the Civil Protection will send everything they've got at you. But the great deed that lies on your shoulders is enough for you to be the driving force the Resistance needs to stand up against their Combine oppressors.

This area alone would have the potential to be an awesome, good sized map with some great game-play ( and should be imho ). Let's see what you have in mind.

I like the idea of going into new areas in C17 because it would also explain why there isn't much CP resistance in HL2 following the Uprising. Gordon encountered mostly OverWatch Forces as he tried to make his way to the Citadel.
