GMDX V10 is a community made update for the GMDX mod. It features over 1400 new changes, in areas ranging from artistic direction to deepened function, and even bug fixing and attempts to reinforce adherence to canon. It's been built to have zero obligation (should a user not prefer it) by using a separate installation and save directory. Many save files are supported retroactively, although some hiccups do occur, as this was not a strictly intended feature. In our opinion, the game looks better, runs better, is balanced better. If you're looking for a way to facelift Vanilla or simply touch up GMDX, we think you'll enjoy what we bring to the table with v10. By the community, for the community.

Description

Shouldn't this build have “03/14/20” on the main menu?

MessageLog:"That would be more accurate. Yes. For now it is essentially a band-aid of the 3/12/20 update and the title is close enough."

Unfortunately, this release doesn't work very well for me. Especially so, compared to GMDXv9. When using the DX10 renderer, I get significant frame drops through Liberty Island, with lows at around 40 FPS at 1440 resolution, also text sometimes gets corrupted and replaced with those weird, almost ASCII-like characters. That's with fresh install of both the game and the mod.

Experimented with settings a bit, and it turns out that disabling HDTP helps push framerate above 100s FPS, with lows at around 80 frames, that's at 1440 resolution. But what's the fun playing without HDTP?

Might be worth posting your specs.

MessageLog:"Unit would also be curious as to the specs in question. Frame drops to 40 fps or so are seen near the docks and other regions of liberty that are very open with HDTP enabled. The problem has been reduced somewhat by forcing some trees to not swap for HDTP in the past as this overloads the polygon count the engine can handle smoothly. The issue is persistent and has not been remedied to a satisfactory level however. Some testing with v9 implies that this frame drop is consistent with v9 while a minority of test results disagree. The nature and causes are unclear overall as no major changes have occurred within this space and the code end of things has been optimized if anything.

The D3D10 'ASCII' issue is a known issue native to the D3D10 rendering device in general. It is a quirk with some hardware compatibility that is often otherwise stable."

MessageLog.Note:"This reply is likely redundant but is being reposted for certainty of delivery."
MessageLog:"User can find a configuration setting for the fire effects in the main menu. It is under Settings > GMDX Options and look towards the bottom of the options. Find 'Flamethrower Effects' and set it to disabled.

There is no configuration for the shotgun effects in question however. Hopefully this is of help to user."

I can't find the option to set a key to "Secondary Weapon".
Also, when you selecting the Difficulty there's a lot of typos, there's even a difficulty called "Previous Menu".

EDIT: Looks like I'm not configurating it correctly. I'm trying to run it with Kentie's Launcher on Steam, but I don't see the Play_GMDX shortcut on my desktop.

MessageLog:"You may play GMDX by finding the GMDXv10 executable in your DeusEx\System installation.

Use of Kentie's is not supported due to it not being friendly for use with mods. As such it causes issues if used to run the Community Update. The lack of secondary weapon hotkey is likely because it was previously localized as 'show multiplayer scores'. This combined with the errored 'previous' button shows that the localization file did not load properly when ran with Kentie's.

Unit hopes that this is helpful to circumvent issues with your experience thus far."

Kenties Launcher is GARBAGE IMHO can't even choose the sound system plus it has NOT been updated in a while

also MMClenerBot have you put those subtitles in the cutscenes? I just wondering someone told me that GMDX puts subtitles in the cutscenes?

MessageLog:"Subtitles are intended to play in the cutscenes at all times in the Community Update. Sometimes this breaks on very abnormal screen ratios however. A brief test shows that this is the case. It was tested briefly on a 1920x1080 monitor at 60 hertz."

Greetings Maintenance Men, I'm here to report some glitches:

1. The sound quality of speech (both infolink and regular dialogue) seems to be low or strangely distorted. It sounds like an MP3 with very low bitrate, forced 8-bit or an output via mobile phone speakers. Other audio (music, shooting etc.) seems to be fine. Audio settings are at 16-bit, 29 channels. Mixing rate is 44100 Hz. EAX and 3D sound are off, audio system is standard (haven't tried it with advanced option at first startup). I'm using earphones. The quality loss is very prominent compared to the original Deus Ex.

2. The font seems to glitch sometimes, suddenly becoming bold or replaced by gibberish. I have only seen this in the latest version. It happens regularly with the subtitles in the dialogues.

3. When using "danceparty" cheat, the image gets partly obscured by the semi-translucent, dark thick band covering most of the screen. It seems to flicker a little. Happens when using Nvidia GPU. Screen resolution is 1366x768, renderer settings are unchanged. HDTP on.

Any idea what is causing these problems?
