News about the state of Daimyo Edition and what to expect in future.

Hello everyone! Its been a long time since I've logged in to moddb. Hope you guys are doing well. I've read all the reports and suggestions and I want to tell you that I'll continue to fix and improve the mod this summer. The school and real life problems/struggles overwhelmed me for a while. But I intend to continue to the development of the mod. Anyways, I have some news for you, some may like it or not but I've started to work on the next big mod. I'm not going to reveal much until I fix the bugs I encountered during the early development, I'll reveal more after I solve those bugs (hopefully) and until I'm sure that the mod is gonna get somewhere to be actually enjoyable and authentic. I don't want to hype anyone before anything is certain. But I think a minor reveal won't do any harm.

We have reached the 100.000 downloads mark! Thank you all for your attention and support to this mod!

This is going to be great, this image says a lot and after having played Gekokujo so many times I know that this will be another great job.

Lol. The font made it seem like its written in some thai language i didn't even notice the 1417 after it. But still. Why Calradia? 1417 is a great setting for a historical mod.

Will there be new factions? Genuinely excited to see how this one turns out! Also by the way, what mod are you going to use as the basis?

Tocan's Calradia seems to be the most stable one. I don't want to add new factions because I want to stay true to that Warband's native feeling, lets see how it turns out. Thank you for the support! :)

So, it plays in Calradia, there will not be new factions (or maybe there will, I'd love to see subfactions), it's gonna be historical altho in Calradia.
That's some quite freaking great plans you've got there.
So I guess you will make the armour look as good as those in Daimyo Edition? So, how long did you plan on this and can you already tell when you will be somewhat done and release a version of it?

I've been working on the mod for quite a while, 3 or 4 months actually. So I'm pretty much done with the items and overall features (Thanks to Narfs amazing OSP packs, those packs shifted up the progress of early development stage, I've made my own retextures and edits upon them). There are some bugs related to Freelancer mod that bothers me (some were present in Gekokujo too) I hope I can find a solution to those issues until the release, soon I'll create a mod page for the mod too so I hope to see you guys there, I'll announce the release date there. :)

I know you said you would be faithful to the native mod, but adding archers to the rhodoks is not personal, but sometimes I imagine that swadia is England and the rhodoks are France and I like it a lot but I hate men with a crossbow :P by the way That image looks good :)

I did not add bows to Rhodoks, I went with a mixed army there. So in the screenshot there are both Rhodok and Swadian units . :)
Cheers. :)

Great, although I did not refer to the image, I just said that the image looked good because of the textures I was referring to when you put units in the troop trees put archers rhodok :) thank you for answering

Hmm, 1417 eh?

That might be my favourite period in terms of armor. However I understand that creating models from scratch to fit is hard work and that you're gonna have to do with a lot of the OSP that are around

But if you feel like knowing which armors were used then, in real life, feel free to ask me and I'll try to answer.

The items tham I'm going to use range from 1380 ~ 1425. Thanks to Narf and many other modellers I don't have that much work to do with the models other than retexturing and small tweaks. The models are pretty much done for the factions, the only faction troubling me right now is the Vaegir faction, they are inspired by Russian Principalities of real life but the thing is, not much are known about the 15th century equipment of Russia, many historians say that in 15th century Russia began using the Western equipments minus the plate armor (they favoured brigandines) but there are also some historians depicting them as still using the Russian conical helms with lamellar armors, which were popular in mid 14th century. That makes equiping the Vaegirs difficult but I may go with a mixed look with both brigandines and traditional Russian look. One thing is sure that the Vaegirs will be the most diverse looking faction. We'll see. If you have anything (images, manuscripts etc.) about 15th century Russian army, feel free to send them to me. Thank you for the support! :)

I am familiar with the work done by Narf, and I was certain you were gonna use them.

As an armor enthusiast however I feel the need to mention that they aren't all historically accurate, since modelers often fall into the trap of believing modern reproductions to be authentic.

I understand that I am probably the only person who cares about this however, so here's just me trying to stay relevant. Feel free to ignore this as some random rambling (which it is)

I will look around for russian armor however, and I'll let you know if I find anything

Well, Im aware of some inaccuracies here and there but they are believable and beautiful enough to be used in the mod, Ive retextured most of them to fix minor accuracies and i think they look pretty good, you will all see them very soon :) . But ofcourse I need to tell that there might be some inaccuracies because I need to give some variety to those armors to make them recognizible among the factions for example some Nordic brigandines will have this distinctive look with fur on the soldiers to show their culture. It will be easier for player to recognize them in the battlefield (Ive seen some pictures that Swedish soldiers in mid 14th century actually using fur over shoulders tho but i believe they took that off in battles). Anyway thank you for the support!
