Today the world celebrates The International Day of Cosmonautics – in that day, 12 April of 1961, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man in the space. This day, in fact, was the beginning of a new era of human freedom, when he was able to overcome the limited terrestrial space, and went up to the unknown expanses of the cosmos.
I want to honor the memory of a great man and pioneer - Yuri Gagarin, who realized the dream of millions of people. Let's do it together... Поехали! [Poehali]
if you want to know more, for detalis Russianlessons.net
What a landmark in history! We've come a long way.
Поехали!
It's truly a shame that we stopped sending people to the Moon. But well, maybe we'll live long enough to see Mars landings :D
After the destruction of the Soviet Union, we do not make steps forward. The progress stopped... Once the Soviet Union was a competitor for some countries. But not now. There is no competition - there is no movement forward. This is very sad ;(
I feel like this post is all about how great the Soviet union is just remember, due to the instability of communism, 18 to 45 million people died
You are very stupid and want to talk about politics. Here are no politics! Don't touch my fathers, And I'm not talking about your fathers and Indians
Politics can be distilled into a very simple concept: Egotistical spoiled brats inhabiting the same sandbox. For the most part they are not worth mentioning, so let's keep this day nice and friendly, shall we? Lol...
Yuri Gagarin was a brave man, and as the first mortal from our earth to ascend into space, he had the privilege of seeing our earth from orbit and witnessing that awesome grandeur we tend to take for granted thanks to Google and similar photo sharing sites.
Imagine what it must have been life to be the first man to see the earth, moon, and stars that much closer and with his own eyes, from out there in the vastness of space. Such an honor, and such a wonderful event to tell his posterity about. His is a life worth celebrating.
I know I sound like a nay sayer, and I respect Russia and the treacherous things they had to do to fight back against the nazis; but politics drive all things forward they sent the first man to space and in response sent the first man to the moon. It is IMPOSSIBLE to do something as big as the first voyages to space wether to get ahead of rival countries or looking for a habitable planet politics have everything to do with it. I DONT want to disrespect your fathers that served your country. I don't want to sound like the *** in the room, we should honor the cosmonauts as we honor Neil Armstrong, it's to bad that we make little to no effort sending people to space again after the collapse of the Soviet Union , which proves my point again that politics have everything to do with it (think before you type) yet the Soviet Union did horrible things to their own people and my family had personal accounts.
I'm sorry that the Soviet Union did bad things to your family, but the political regime of the USSR had given assurances that "Tomorrow" will come. My grandmother told me that when the Soviet Union had a lot of good things. What is happening now - I can't find the words. I have no guarantees that I will Wake up in the morning and "Tomorrow" will come... It's very sad. And not only in my country, it happens all over the world :(
Just stop it :)
Sure thing, apologies also great job on the mod I can't wait for its release
I saw the symbol. I have never clicked faster to see that symbol in all of it's spacey glory.
