My team, jkberna and Djodar, my various esteemed collaborators such as Siber and Avatar II of the HW@ mod, and myself are proud to bring you the Galactic Council Mod, a bold project intended to show you just what really was behind those hyperspace gates at the end of the original Homeworld. So far there are three totally new races on the drawing board-- two totally original new races-- the Czalkir and the DR1, and another based off of actual Relic concept art that has come to be called the Lizaanj.

Two of the most potent Carriers in the Galactic Council, the brutal Lizaanj ADS Carrier and massive Czalkir Carrier hover listlessly through space.
Somehow... they seem to fit into the original HW1 universe perfectly. They are weird, and exotic, but they seem utilitarian enough to be feasable, just like the ships of the first game. Not sure if I can say the same for the combat ships of your new races though, they are just a little too exotic (for my tastes).
I really like the new carrier on the right, hopefully you will show more angles of it later?
I'm sure I will; there's work to be done on it yet, but it's almost finished and there are plenty more angles worth showing!
how do you get a glow like that in photoshop?
Homeworld 2 ships take two texture layers, one for the surface details, and one for the glow map. To make the glows in photoshop, you take the normal texture, cover all the areas you want to make glow with 255 green, then cover the rest of the texture in 255 blue. You import that for the $glow shader of the ship texture type in CFHODed, and the normal texture for the $diffuse shader. Hope that helps!

Well, Hiigarans aren't a very high priority for this mod. Since this is supposed to take place right before HW2, they aren't very important players in the galaxy yet. But, eventually, we will likely have to give them some new guns for MP balance, so don't despair.
But if...this before HW2. That means that weaponry of races are not so advanced should be...or those races must not to encounter with regular Hiigarans or Makaan. I dunno...but U know what? I love your models )))

We'll get AI working somehow, someday, but I don't really know how yet. That is, with research trees. And we're planning on having an SP campaign too.
