I was wondering can we fire the mg 42 while standing up or do we have to keep dolphin diving to fire the mg in forgottne hope 2?

You can't fire well standing up, but guns are insanely inaccurate for about 1 second after going prone, so dolphin diving is quite rare-I think I've only gotten killed once by a dolphin diver since 2.2 came out.

There are also tripod versions of the gun which can be fired standing up, but require the gun to be set up which takes a few seconds.

Well IRL you could fire it standing, it was only a matter of becoming in line with the weapon itself and bracing your back leg in a pivoted direction. Not the best way to fire it but it worked.

It should be able to fire the MG-42 standing up against the wall ( since it has a bipod) but i understand that the BF2 Engine doesnt allow that

Skip ahead to 9:02, he shows how you can fire the MG-42 while standing, and the Germans DID use it like that: Youtube.com
