Note that these guns are specifically ones that were captured and used by Germany, not ones that remained with Vichy France or passed into the hands of Free France.

Description

The famous Canon de 75 Mle 1897 has already been featured in Forgotten Hope 2 since our first French release, however this was in the M38 form with pneumatic tyres. The original gun had been designed to be towed by horses, and was fitted with solid wooden wheels with steel tyres.

In 1939 and 1940, the Germans captured many hundreds of these guns from Poland and France respectively. While many of these would be converted into PaK 97/38 anti-tank guns, many were also used unmodified as second line artillery pieces. Our Mle 1897 and FK 231(f) were modified from our Mle 1897 M38 by Seth Soldier.
