The Firefight Project: A Gameplay Experiment in Source Project Goals: The primary goal of this project is, natrually, to produce a game where firefights are the prominent gameplay dynamic. That is, create a mod where player's reflexes are not so importaint as manuvering and using tactics to eliminate opposing players. This project is dedicated to creating sustained fights (a real battle; an exchange between opposing players) that are exciting and tense. The best moments in games are when you don't die right away, and have to struggle to both survive and eliminate. That sort of dynamic/situation is at the heart of this project. Theory: As was stated in "Project Goals" above, this project is focused on producing a game where players struggle to survive and eliminate opposing players. Well then, our first Alpha is almost ready for testing (Alpha 1.0). This buid will test core concepts, and will be strictly code, that is, no custom content. Once we've fine tuned the project's dynamics, we'll likely revamp the site with new info and such. We still have alot of work to do, but soon we'll have the framework, and the rest should just follow suit.
