you should make a texture and particle effect for big explosions and place them out of bounds

Looks good! but the explosion is a bit too small and the fog is a bit... uglu?

That looks incredible, but it would be more realistic if you added artillery craters, put some dirty water in the bottom of them, and it would look good if there were random corpses strewn about the area, maybe with shrapnel wounds, gaping holes, the works. I also really like the idea Amosinn had. Your officer idea is awesome too.

Surely no one can live there.

Officer class can perform an artillerystrike with his binoculars. Once I click the primaryattack button heavy bombardment will begin. Bombardment lasts for a certain amount of time eventually laying heavy smoke cloud on the field. If you can survive in the eye of the bombardment you are extremely lucky.
