Dude, amazing work on the UI and other stuff you've put out so far, nothing comes close to the astounding visual quality you've put into making these, I'm really looking forward to your future progress.

Also, do you have a Discord server where we could chat and maybe give feedback or suggestions?

Finally, any possibility for a Firestorm Over Kaurava (FOK) support? if not, maybe an option of separated items instead? --- icon, sounds, effects, taskbars, textures, and etc. put into different downloads / folders so we can pick and choose what to install.

Despite it being pretty much abandoned, I've been playing FOK for 6 years straight now, and imho it's still one of the best mods that's closest and accurately represents the tabletop without being too much over the top like UA, so I really hope there's a possibility of having support for it.

P.S. I'm still using ur old HD Icons pack and HD Sisters Textures on my game <3

Eranthis as planned to add a reinforcement system like FOK, with the only possibility to reinforce from LP and buildings. And he's adding a armour system close to tabletop, so that would be interesting.

I like the idea of a discord server, but think it should be created later on.

That would be interesting indeed, it'd be nice to have the FOK-like micro changes in the game, like being able to pick and choose from a variety of weapon upgrades for units to counter specific armor types and wargears for heroes too and being able to see them all visually would be a plus.

It's a pseudo combination of elements from tabletop and dow2. I like the compact and minimalism dow2 has with its units as there's a lot more weight put into the squads. Still, having a squad cap of 30 means you can still produce quite a few units in Redux. And yes, the armour system now mirrors the ideas found in tabletop where toughness is now a property that units have and I'm happy to say that heavy weapons like missile launchers and lascannons now decimate infantry units as the lore dictates instead of just giving them a bruise.

As for your question, Redux is intended to be standalone. I don't have any plans to make it compatible with other mods nor can it really BE compatible since a lot of rules and gameplay mechanics are being altered where it wouldn't sync properly with existing mods. You can definitely export (some) fx into other games as they're built on top of the base fx files but there's still some that are custom added into the mod. Sounds to a degree are the same thing although I've made new directories to have multiple sounds play for one specific sound. Icons would need to be completely moved and renamed to the base game's setup as they're in their own directory. lss, if you have modding experience and the tools, you can definitely use my assets in another mod but I won't go out of my way to hand the assets over.

Also def expect new models and textures when 1.0 hits, as soon as I rebalance this entire game. XD

Also, are you planning on adding custom races like the Tyranids in the future or would all the races be just vanilla?

Btw, about my question earlier, I guess that makes sense, although I don't really mind not having compatibility / support with other mods, I was just curious if you would.

I'd like to add Tyranids but I'll need to see what my options are before finding a way to integrate them into the mod. It would def take a long time to incorporate a new faction completely. I've heard of a Hive Fleet mod that could be usable and if it's already compatible with the base game soulstorm, then it'll be a lot easier to add in.

Could it be possible to make Heretic regenerate health? They don't regenerate health after forced labour is turned off. Health regeneration on Broadside Suits is really slow, maybe make them regenerate health little faster (I don't play Tau often, I might be missing something here). Would it be possible to make Necron green stuff colorable (on weapons,eyes,chest,buildings,monolith orb on top after it becomes moving fortress)? After you begin updating textures and models on units, can we expect some new details, models etc.?

Heretics do regenerate health, albeit very slowly. Plus their health regen is quadrupled with Chaos Taint that becomes available after the Desecrated Fortress has been finished. Battlesuits have the same regen as any other standard Tau infantry. They might look like they regen slower because their health pool is so much larger. Not sure if I can achieve making gauss colorable. Fx can only go one way with how they're portrayed so it would be an off mix of blue+green or orange+green if they were colored. And yes, models when updated will reflect more of the tabletop models in detail and variety.

Didn't notice that. Thanks. Sad to hear that about Necrons though, really wanted light blue weapons, but it is what it is. May I ask how is the progress going so far? When can we expect some news about next update and maybe release?

Chaos are next on the factions to implement and after some more fx to Space Marines and maybe some UCS string work for IG, I'll have a release.

I have some suggestions and questions:

  • Mega-Armored Nobz - Will add option to add Warboss/Medic/Big Mek as squad leader?
  • Faction UI - In original game, each race had unique UI (taskbar, etc.), now they all have the same. Will this change or unique ones are gone for good?
  • Remaking Buildings - Once you start remaking unit models, will this affect building or not? (I think not, because then you will have to remake icons again, although not sure)
  • Your mod runs a lot better than other mods and in some cases vanilla game, not sure what you did there but that's a good thing.
  • I noticed in last match that Heavy Bolter turrent did nothing against Terminators, they weren't losing any health or morale at all, not sure what was that. (Turret was shooting at them directly)

  • Maybe? Not sure if the option before was removed for balance reasons but since infantry are easier to kill with the mod, I don't see this being an issue.
  • Yes, the UI will eventually be faction-based but that won't be considered until 1.0 and after. Right now, the gameplay is the priority.
  • Some buildings I do plan to remake for the better. Might go into redesigning or perhaps updating them in general but we'll see how capable I am with that.
  • Wouldn't go as far to say the mod runs better than vanilla but I think one reason it stays consistent is because map fog hasn't been extended to the max.
  • Likely a glitch. The only way that could be explained is that the turret's weapon info doesn't have a heavy_infantry_high armour input in its APD file.
  • Eventually.1.0+ is where that'll happen.

Are they infantry though? These Nobz are elites/honor guard. They will be stronger and more durable than other orks? Maybe allowing Harleyquins/Necron Lord as squad leader as well? Also would allowing more artifacts to Necron Lord make him OP? Would Could it be possible to spawn randomized Chaos Lord and his weapons? Like in DoW 1 he had different face and scythe,DC had helmeted one so maybe adding this could bring some variety. I also think you should add more Chapters to space marines, I know you did say you want 9 for now but later you could add more,only more famous/popular ones (Salamanders,Iron Hands,Flesh Tearers,Crimson Fists) not like 200 chapters like some other mods. Any plans for adding flamers/meltas/plasma weapons to tanks? This might be little out of place at the moment, but I think once you start working with the models, Chaos marines and Terminators (if you add them of course) should have a lot of older armor like MK3 and MK4 and older variants of terminator armor because they cant make a lot of new stuff because where they are, not enough resources in the Warp.
