ESF is a fast paced, 3rd person fighter based on the hit anime, Dragonball Z. Select your favorite character and fly, power up, transform, melee, and beam your enemies into pulp. Each character is given signature moves and abilities to compliment different style of play. Some are stronger in hand to hand combat, others are better with energy attacks. Play in three different game modes, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the dragonballs. There is a learning curve so newbies beware. This is not your normal Half-life mod.

Hey, whats up guys, this is Dalte89 the Particle FX Designer for ESF 1.3. Damnnnn do we got a big juicy update for you guys. I know all of you have been tired of the constant teasing and the pictures of the goods so I put together a nice beefy, tender, suculent, sexy, amazing, epic, superior, outstanding, and amazingly super epicly outstanding trailer for you.
I joined the team pretty much a year now and since I've joined all ive been doing is living my dreams redoing any and every effect I lay my eyes across. From Kamehamehas, to a Punch in the Face, to a gigantic spirit bomb blowing you to ashes. I can promise you that what you get with 1.3 will blow any previous version of ESF out of the water effortlessly. Being the perfectionist that I am, I try to capture the very essence of all DBZ like action. From each an every detail in combination with the shaders Raven provides me with, you will be amazed. Powering up with rocks floating around, swooping over water parting the sea, dust and splashing underneath a flying beam, teleporting streaks...heh too much to talk about. I'de rather show you. Take a look at the Earth's Special Forces Version 1.3 Effects Trailer and see just how many effects I've been hard at work on since I have joined.
Hope you all love it so much, as I put alot of work into this trailer along with help from the rest of the team. So without further due, watch it, DROOL, and LOVE ME..
Also featured in this update are Doormat's new Gohan model and a teaser of our new Cell powered by GG and Enix
And at least a w.i.p. show off teaser trailer by Raven, featuring some yet unseen stuff, just for your pleasure, in 720p so enjoy it and grab it while u can.

Hells yeah. You guys have so much talent. I am GLAD you didn't go to Source, it wouldn't have come out this amazing. Bravo, you have more dedication then most modders will ever have.
i would like to see them using source , see the differences . but i will allow you guys to move to source ( if you even going to ) after yuo give us a realy good piece of work :D cause i bought HL just for this mod and it wasynt a waste of money :)
All the effects would ruin the framerate in a source game I predict.
dont care...it looks awesome even if i run it with 10 fps i will enjoy the game

Why are you glad they didnt go to source? I think it would have been better wouldnt it?
Through the hacking and persistant work they have done, they have far outsourced (pun unintended) any DBZ mod ever made for any engine, including DB source.
Also, we'd have to wait until 2015-2020 for it to Reach this quality. So, no thanks. :P

The team said ESF will live and die on hl 1 , it will never go on source,Just look at the mod so far why would you want to wait an other 5 years to get an source mode....

I still have the memories of playing the previous ESF versions in the back of my head. Still remember all the fan I had with it.
But damn, looking at it now, I'm almost scared my semi-new pc will need some hardware upgrades to play the next version :P

this game is almost perfect. the only thing that you need is to make maps with destroyable buildings, lands like the ones from namek :D

It will be a blast if you move this to Crytek Engine 3 :))
Not gonna happen. The engine doesnt allow for that and coding it all in is simply to much work since it has to be customized to the map format itself. Basically weed have to make our own system.
And we wont be moving to the crytek engine 3 cause the next release will be our last. Once ESF: Final is out we will stop work on the mod and move on.
Not stop work , there will still be some more bug's fixed and such, patches but no more relesh
Im not so sure about that John. If the release is stable enough there will be no patches.

I'm pretty sure people will find bugs. Hundreds of people playing it will find more bugs than the whole beta testing team together ^_^. Kinda true as they (public) play non-stop.
