Dreamball's 2.0 release will be rolling out today! First things first, unfortunately we we're unable to pull of a Steam release due to our own busy lives. Apologies for any disappointment! None the less, it doesn't stop you playing Dreamball.

In the 2.0 release it will feature a brand new world, the Lava World, featuring 4 new maps built in this unique theme. Packed with lot's of puzzles and marbles to morph into! The older maps have also been given a complete make over, not to mention new music too! I'm sure any of you will agree Dreamball's older music in the 1.2 release was awful, thankfully, we ran into some musical talent otherwise known as Brian Davis. He's produced a beautiful sound track for Dreamball with each world theme having it's own unique track! You can also download the Dreamball Official Sound Track here too.

Now it's also a pleasure to also announce the marble / camera setup has been completely redefined. We understand from a lot of feedback it needed a nudge, and it's gotten a huge one thanks to our coder. See for yourself when you play! For Level Designers, we've also setup a complete new guide for Level Creation in Dreamball aswell as a small dev kit with all of our official maps in open source VMF form. Learn more about it here. Get busy with any ideas you've got with Hammer!

While it's downloading take a look at the new gallery of screenshots and the new trailer.

Head here to also grab these screenshots as a desktop wallpaper.

first, mod db download was broken, you should fix that or post the alternative dl-mirror

i like the mod, the idea is an old one i think but great work, great ideas with the physics of the source engine, realy good job
maybe a little bit short because of the low amount of levels

also a little critique, the wood of the boxes and the barrals looked a little bit to strange, i think the bumpmapping was too much, looked a little but surreal because wood is not so shiny
but the rest looked realy nice (especial the ball looked realy great with the reflections)

so nice work, keep it up ;)

This is clearly a very well-made mod, but never manages to get past the proof-of-concept stage: it works, but it's not yet fun.

There's a gamemode in Garry's Mod that pits players in a marble madness-style race to the finish line. That's a very different goal to the one you're pursuing here, but it would be a much better use of the tech you've put together...

My only real complaint is the collision sounds of the marbles. Generic plastic? Get some chinking glass in there! :-)

Nice job stealing the idea of Switchball from the Xbox Live Arcade game:

It's great when you steal others ideas and try to mark them as your own.

Are you really going to say that? Ideas are not "Stolen." They are just used for inspiration. There have been lots of marble games but each one has something different like SinKing said.

Most mod ideas are "stolen", does that matter? No!
Marble madness, Switchball, Balance they all have the same concept, so why can't we have another who does the same thing, in mod format.

Anyway, looks great but won't play it.(I've played too much of these type of games)

MasterLodoss - you must be really young, if you have never heard of Marble Madness or ever played a game, solving puzzles with a ball. It's not a new concept, just the execution of it and the fact that its a mod is somewhat new.

I really love this mod.

There are some visual bugs concerning the skybox and not all of the balls were textured. The ice level had too much lighting. I think those were my only minor issues as I was playing this version

It's actually getting annoying lately, seeing people just randomly quote on every mod page 'omg total ripoff' blah blah. as someone else here said, every mod in existence is a ripoff of something else, always has been, always will be. it's the nature of mods - people wanting to do something because they want to do it, and then sharing it with others.
