Desert Combat Realism Mod for DC Final (28 Nov 2004)

This mod is an attempt to bring DC gameplay closer to how the real equipment behaves. It is a continuation of the previous Tanelorn Realism Mod under new leadership.
We have not created this mod to rival the DC team. More, to appeal to hard-liners and prior service, or just players looking for greater levels of realism and a sterner approach to game balance. It improves immersion by making the equipment behave more closely to what you would expect from real world counterparts. We *HAVE NOT* taken a truly realistic posture, as we all know how superior US equipment is to third world counterparts.
*** INSTALLATION ***
THe self-installer should automatically detect your install directory and install the mod. It belongs in your Battlefield1942/mods/ directory
To create a shortcut to this mod, I suggest duplicating your Desert Combat shortcut, and in the target field:
replace +game DesertCombat
with +game DC_Realism

Dead? or not. I want to play this. Becasue i dont want to ahve to pay 10 bucks for DC for 1942
Guys, its all ok to debate and discuss facts etc, but whats the point in slagging off the guy below you who you've never met and possibly made one tiny factual mistake ? No-one takes any notice of online **** taking, so there's no point in acting hardcore with the keyboard. Unless its in-game....
Gay thats what this is, gay. not many ppl want a realism mod. why did thay buy bf2 in the first place. it unrealistic. the gamemakers say so. go play bf1942 they already have a gay realism mod. dont waste you time

Why is this registered as a Battlefield 2 mod?
It's clearly an addon for Desert Combat, a modification of Battlefield 1942.

just so you know salty an ak-47 fires is 7.62x39 not 7.62x51 or 7.62x51R in more common terms .308 which is fired from an m14 etc. and 5.54x39 is used in ak-74's and the ak rounds dont tumble in the air at all they follow a strait bath and wapon hitting the body strip their jacket and will inflict nasty injurys unlike an m16 etc which do so in the body...the ak rounds are only about the size of half your finger a .308 is twice the size and will rip you apart upon hitting you. either way bolth rounds are far deadlyer than a crappy 9mm which unlike "ak" rounds and .308 will not go through a 3 foot thick tree and still kill you. oh and the m16 isnt all that superior mex in fact if my life depended on it i wouls favor a ak over the m16 or m4....even better a .308 rifle. oh and 9mm is a ****** round and can never be compared to that of a m16,m4,or,ak..in fact id rather have a 22 pistol

Wow...I revisited this mod to see How it was doing and see some people were saying some very Nasty things about me lets clear some things up.
1. by AK i meant AK-47 7.62 x 51mm
2. 7.62 x 51mm vs 9mm , 9mm Has far less power and is not armor pericing like the 7.62mm x 51mm amunition hence it does not Have the killing power of it. but the AK-47s 7.62 x51mm ammo compared to the M4 and its Varients 5.56mm x 45mm ammo is more powerfull at closer ranges to tagets wearing Soft Body armor.
3. 5.56 tumbles not 7.62, a common mistake and i only Made not becasue It was staed before and i dont Put it down as an insult to sebbman becasue im sure he at least took the time to research or has first hand experience with This topic.
4. the AK-47 is the most reliable Weapon in the world to date and anything short of filling the receiver with concrete or running it over with somthing of tank weight or heavier will not casue the gun to cease function. after 300 meters the acccuracy suffers greatly compared to the m16a2 which is why i said its range should be edited By means of Increasing bullet Drop as to the ROF The AK-47s Avg of 300 RPM vs the M16a2s avg 500-800 is Not accuratly represented in the game and i only whished That the Modders consider fixing this.
5. <<Phew..."as we all know how superior US equipment is to third world counterparts.">> this quote was me saying the statment was silly becasuse not all US equipment is Superior to 3rd world Countrys Weapons weather it is there own or not, just to say...i am american and proud of my country But would glady trad in My Colt AR-15 which is based on the M4 that the military uses For a British L85A2 or a Romanian AK-47 anyday and it is only the fact that I like the M4s Looks and feel and overal cool factor that i prefer it over the Cheaper and more reliable/ effective AK-47 and its also Cheaper Ammo.
