In the next update you have the choice to start as a vassal of a faction and create your custom character.

The arm of France is not acurate. The kingdom arm is : " d'azur à trois fleurs-de-lis d'or en trèfle" (azure with three gold fleurs-de-lis in clover) Fr.wikipedia.org
