DEATHWING is a mod for the PC to replace Left 4 Dead 2. It is a cooperative FPS where the objective is to reach the end of each level with as many men as you started.

Start the campaign by selecting your armaments carefully. You have a choice between standard firearms, where ammunition is finite but range is safer, or melee weapons, the up close and personal approach that will never leave you empty handed.
You face an abomination that can only be purged by brute force. Board the space derelict, remove its inhabitants, and discover its true purpose.

Hi everybody,

It shouldn't be a surprise that there hasn't been any progress on this mod in some time. I should probably explain why: Games Workshop hired somebody else to make a clone of it.

I am aware that I dont own the IP, so I cant really complain too much. Additionally, if I continue to develop DEATHWING, I risk being shut down by GW anyway, so its just not worth the time investment.

While I am really honored to be emulated, it leaves me in an awkward position. Do I continue to develop the mod, despite there being a fully funded title on the horizon, or do I look at making my own IP entirely. When I was making DEATHWING, I was hoping to be noticed by GW (being a huge W40K fan), and sharing my vision, we could have made the game together, on a large scale. But without even so much of a wink or nod, it was all underhandedly taken from under me, even the title.

I want everybody to know that I really enjoyed making this mod, and I really enjoyed the community response. I grew up with the 40K universe from back when it was Rogue Trader. I am glad it has come as far as it has and that others love it as much as I do.

That all being said, I haven't been sitting on my thumbs for the last 2 years. I have been hard at work at a completely new game and IP: Vector 36, due to be released Q4 2015. So if you enjoyed the relentless punishment that DEATHWING provided, you can get more of that here:

www.Vector36.com

Store.steampowered.com

Bit of a plug, but I think I have earned it.

Once again, thanks for your patronage, thanks to everyone involved. I wish it could have turned out differently.

nice to see the good fellows who made the new DeathWing game did not hire any of us, they at least could have employed Ryan who has talent and persistance to complete projects but what ever

You know, I think a possible way to make a proper flamer would be to emulate the weapon as an auto shotty, and turn the bullet effect into a flame effect, ramp up the rate of fire, and give the bullets a condition to them where they light the nids on fire on contact.

-sincerely someone with absolutely no clue how this **** works.

you know, there is a way to erase the crosshair by typing "cl_drawhud 0" in console when you try to make a trailer.

idont want this mod to be dead, there is still enough mats to make 2 more maps, but ryan is working on so much other stuff and i think not being albe to make a proper flammer in lfd2 really killed it

My friends and I can't seem to get a multiplayer game running. Whenever we try to use "exec deathwing_coop" it starts the game but the others can't join. If anyone can help us that would be great.
