Dawn of War II: Elite is a multiplayer mod for Dawn of War II: Retribution. Originally envisioned by Caeltos (a competitive player with a wealth of experience spanning through vanilla to Retribution) as an experimental balance mod for high-level players, Elite evolved into making bolder changes as THQ cut the official support of DOW 2 in their dive toward bankruptcy. The addition of new abilities and units became commonplace, from Space Marine Sternguard Veterans, Eldar Fire Dragons, Chaos Raptors to the Ork Flash Gitz, finalising in the introduction of an entirely new faction - the Grey Knights, based on Bloodravage’s Destroyer 40k mod – all designed from a competitive PvP angle. Coupled with continuous development and an active community dedicated to casts, coverage and regular events, the Elite mod continues to preserve and enrich the de facto Warhammer 40K RTS to this day.

This game was one of the reasons of where I learned about the 40k universe. I had heard about it but this game made it come to life.

Now with the ELITE MOD it has only gotten better. For almost 2 years now the team has been dedicated to bringing out patches and including other members in creating new units, abilities, maps and balance changes.

They have modeling artists, portrait artists, voice actors and more.

If you liked Dawn of War 2 this will be the reason you keep playing this oldie but goodie.

Best multiplayer-mod ever. New faction, new units and tons of bug fixing and what matters most for a multiplayer game: good balance.
If you like Dow2 Retribution multiplayer you have to install this mod. You won't regret it.

Great balance mod that keeps the game alive. Makes the game almost perfectly balanced and fix huge amount of bugs from retail. I would recommend it to every DoW2 fun

The Elite mod creates a balanced experience throughout the multiplayer, catering for more fair plays in all game modes, but originally centred around 1v1. It contains new units, such as the Chosen Plague Marines, the Vanguard and Sternguard Veterans, and more which I forget at the moment. A new faction was even birthed in the form of the Grey Knights, a dynamic but different faction that operate outside of many of the norms of the game, yet remain a strong faction at heart.

Because the map pool was small, various contributors have made maps for the multiplayer, such as Max Power's Meridian High City, Indrid's Estia Province and many others.

The mod frequently hosts tournaments, the Monthly Rumble Tournament being the most frequent but the Elite Mod Championship being the msot prestigous, with a grand top prize of two hundred euro for the winner and diminished amounts for all fo the runners up, having taken place in September 2014.

the man in charge is the veteran himself, Caeltos our lord and saviour who (along with his team) leads the design and balance of the mod and ensures that no patch is ever stale.

Finally, all of the casters who were big on the retail version of the game have come over to Elite mod in order to show off the mod, and then even stayed to cast it over retail, names such as Indrid, Red Rupee and Maestro Cretella being popular on the casting scene.

Why wait? It's full of goodies and a playerbase eager to get you interested. Youc an find the mod's website here: Dawnofwar.info and the forum here: Dawnofwar.info

Simply love this mod

Dawn of War 2 is already the ultimate tactical RTS game, and Elite Mod adds so much to it in terms of factions and balance.

Great mod! its a bit weird that the Storm Troopers have been retextured for each regiment though, they are a separate organisation in the lore. Really strange seeing Catachan Storm Troopers when they have the Devils lol.

This game was one of the reasons of where I learned about the 40k universe. :)

just the best

DoW 2 +, thats how it feels, but i believe that the Imperial Guard and the Eldar (the 2 most op factions in vanilla) are even more op in the mod, but that just me.
