Dawn of War II: Elite is a multiplayer mod for Dawn of War II: Retribution. Originally envisioned by Caeltos (a competitive player with a wealth of experience spanning through vanilla to Retribution) as an experimental balance mod for high-level players, Elite evolved into making bolder changes as THQ cut the official support of DOW 2 in their dive toward bankruptcy. The addition of new abilities and units became commonplace, from Space Marine Sternguard Veterans, Eldar Fire Dragons, Chaos Raptors to the Ork Flash Gitz, finalising in the introduction of an entirely new faction - the Grey Knights, based on Bloodravage’s Destroyer 40k mod – all designed from a competitive PvP angle. Coupled with continuous development and an active community dedicated to casts, coverage and regular events, the Elite mod continues to preserve and enrich the de facto Warhammer 40K RTS to this day.

What's new?
a fashionably passive version, with ustonovniki for this game as it is scary. I only mentally set up WK40k, Codex mod, unless you select enemy races with a computer.
that is, unpacked
Question, I don't know much about updating mods and I just downloaded your work but once I start it up, does it automatically replace the old files? If not, how do I restart the game to vanilla from the older mods I use? Also my game is a steam version.
DoW mods usually don't replace the original files. Elite Mod installer creates a shortcut-icon. So use this elite mod icon to start the mod and the vanilla version can be started via steam library
Okay, I'm not one of the modders but I can tell you how.
1. IIRC the installer does replace the older files from older versions, but to be safe, all you have to do is delete the "Elite" folder, the elite.module file and the elite.ucs in the "locale" folder. Then, only install!
2. So, the Elite mod doesn't mix with the Retail / Vanilla files.
To do ran vanilla, just click on the shortcut (not Elite Mod's shortcut) to run the vanilla game. The shortcut is "Warhammer 40,000 - Dawn of War II - Retribution".. hope it helps!
The installer replaces the older mod files from elite. And as others said already you can load the regular dow2 retribution through steam.
If you have other issues installing feel free to ask on the discord server. Most of the install issues we see not too hard to fix.
