Darktran TC mod for Doom II

Flex City, 2053.

For several years, this once magnificent supercity has been under control by a massive organization of Neo-Nazis. Led by the world famous scientist Doctor Electron, these evil maniacs rule Flex City with an iron fist.

One local citizen of Flex City eventually grows tired of the Neo-Nazis' campaign of terror in her hometown, and she decides to start fighting back. This person possesses a supernatural ability known as a Technique, although she is unaware of how she actually obtained it. Calling herself Darktran, she is all alone against the Neo-Nazi menace, save for Delta, a sentient A.I. who exists inside of a microchip Darktran's brain. Darktran and Delta frequently butt heads due to Darktran being not only willing, but flat out eager, to get into fights and dangerous situations, while Delta would rather she make use of her Technique to live a long, safe and comfortable life.

Delta's existence stems from a failed experiment carried out by Doctor Electron in 2052. This experiment involved him creating microchips with a built in A.I. that would constantly project transphobic thoughts into the human host's head, eventually making them de-transition. Electron had his forces kidnap all of the known transgender people living in Flex City and had these microchips implanted into every one of their heads.

The experiment was a complete failure. Electron made the mistake of using fully sapient A.I. for the microchips, so they all have the ability to feel, see, hear, taste and smell what their host is experiencing. As a result, none of the A.I. were willing to go along with Electron's plan, instead preferring to simply befriend their human host and enjoy life.

A very small number of humans are in possession of a supernatural ability known as a Technique. Darktran's Technique, Rejuvenation, allows her to rapidly recover from sustained injuries almost immediately after receiving them. While Rejuvenation is extremely powerful, it does not make Darktran invincible, as taking too much damage at once will cause her Technique to be unable to keep up, causing her to die.

Darktran makes it her personal goal to kill Doctor Electron, along with as many Neo-Nazi scumbags as she possibly can! Seeing Rejuvenation as a blessing from a higher power, Darktran deduces that fighting evil is her life's purpose

Deciding to take the fight to Doctor Electron head on, Darktran heads to the Flex City Feminist Research Facility, which is where his main office is located, but she forgets to grab her shotgun and supplies before leaving her apartment! Whoops!

Due to already being at the facility, Darktran decides to press on without any weapons. Delta sighs, knowing that this is just the first of many stupid decisions Darktran will make.

How to play Darktran

For starters you will need a copy of Doom 2, as doom2.wad is required to run this TC!

1. Download Darktran TC from ModDB.

2. Unzip the Darktran folder.

3. Take your doom2.wad file and drop it in the folder titled "GZDoom."

4. In the GZDoom folder, click on the ini file titled "gzdoom-Kat" and rename it after your PC's user. It should be named "gzdoom->YOURUSERNAME<." THIS IS REQUIRED! THE GAME WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS.

5. Open the folder titled "Doom 2 mods!"

6. Select both Darktran.wad and Mods Required for Darktran.pk3 and open them both with gzdoom.exe!

7. The game should now be running!

GENERAL TIPS FOR GAMEPLAY!

- Kick is bound to Q by default for all players. You can change this in the console, just simply open the console with the tilde (`) key and type: bind >KEY< "pukename kick" and you can kick like there's no tomorrow!

- Manual saving is still present, it's just hidden. Press F6 during gameplay to quick save at will.
