A double barrlled tank without rotating turret seems more basic tank to me.
It looks like a mix of Atreides mech and Harkonnen tank. Still I love mechs so I'd agree with you. Just make it more spiky.

I like the original concept, but I also like the Mk1/Mk2 idea. You could include Mk2 at a later stage (like in Tiberum Essence mod, which has Mk1/Mk2/Mk3 versions of the Mammoth)
