The aim of this mod is get the best out of the graphics of this classic game, but make it as natural as possible. This means overprocessed shaders won't be added. The mod contains all of the best available textures and a unique System.cfg, optimized for 2,5K and 4K downsampling. The mod also contains a tweak guide and adds hotkeys to the nanosuit functions. You need to have a 64-bit system and a good graphics card to run it. Please make sure to follow the installation instruction that comes with the mod.

It's called Parallax Occlusion Mapping. It has always been in the game, but it was not compatible with Anisotropic Filtering that time, so Crytek had it disabled by factory default. Also new textures were added to strengthen this 3D-looking effect. It's the same technology what you have seen in the "Realistic mud" screenshot earlier.
