Crates and Barrels is a single-player "minigame" mod for Half-Life 2. It is a unique mod for several reasons, most notably for what it is not: it isn't a shooter (first or third person) - it isn't an RPG, strategy, or adventure game - and it doesn't use the Source game engine. What it is, though, is a collection of mini-games which use the Half-Life 2 characters, objects, and textures in several simple and classic video games that are intended for a few moments of comic relief. Written entirely in Visual Basic 2008 and using Managed DirectX 1.1, it is a first for Half-Life 2 mods. You will need Half-Life 2 installed in order to play this mod, as all game content is loaded as needed during gameplay from the Half-Life 2 GCF files.

I have installed the mod, installed .net framework 3.5, and installed managed directx 1.1 runtimes. when i run the mod, the stuff loads, then it says loading lobby. its finished with that, the loading thing goes away and a sound goes off and nothing shows. what might have. |

So you see the splashscreen and the prompt updates to show all of the activities (ending with loading lobby..., then what happens? Is the splashscreen disappearing and you do not see the main program window? Is there a Crates and Barrels button in the task bar (maybe it started minimized)? Is your screen resolution at least 1024x768 (that is the fixed resolution of Crates and Barrels)? |

nevermind, i thought i installed .net framework 3.5, but i didnt. which was probably why it didnt work. i installed it and it works fine now. sorry about that. |
