This is a full conversion Tolkien mod for Crusader Kings 2 which will feature bookmarks throughout the Third Age. This mod is being developed independently from any other LotR or Middle Earth mods out there. The map will cover the main areas of Middle Earth, known in the books and films. So, Middle-Earth is waiting for you! Will you play as the descendant of one of the noble families of Rohan or Gondor? Will you try to reforge the ancient kingdoms of Elves in Eriador? Or will you try to destroy all the Free Peoples, and claim Middle Earth for Morgoth? This mod will give you a unique strategy experience of the Third Age in Middle-Earth. From Forodwaith to Bellakar, from Lindon to Rhûn, lead your dynasty and survive the Dark Times. Become one of the most important Lords of the Age!

Description

Thanks a lot, but the game crashes after playing for about 3 minutes. Good work anyways.

Well, that's not normal. The only reason for a crash is the "hire" decisions, who're a little buggy, but we know it and it's already fix for a future version. On which screen were you before the crash?

I was just moving my troops around the map. I didn't even have any window open.

Not again a date, but maybe sooner than we hope... or not :p
Next version will add a lot of new features, but as we're only two little modders on our free time, we progress little by little. We needs again some helps ;)

Love the mod! Amazing job. Is it possible to release a hot fix for the CTD in the intrigue menu? :)

It'll be fix in the next update, but you can fix it by removing the file "employement_decisions.txt" in "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod/MiddleEarthProject0.1b/decisions" ;)

Really loving the Mod, playing it multiplayer with a buddy...but I noticed when I play as an Uruk or Orc when I marry a human woman, I die instantly? I've figured it must be a bug, because it happens reliably. I love the interaction between races, and would like to see it worked on, because there's definitely a lot of potential!

The mod so far is amazing, and I'm looking forward to seeing it get better and better! I have faith in you guys!

Oh, and another little nitpick...none of the evil races have retinues. I feel like uruks at the very least should, but I'd like to see orcs get their own as well, and trolls! Trolls need to feel more powerful, I feel, with perhaps a levy nerf like the ents, but the power is boosted. Because an army of trolls, while not as numerous as orcs, would be much scarier, I feel. Otherwise keep up the great work guys! I look forward to whatever additions you guys have been working on!

Hello, thanks for your support, and here's my answers to some of your questions :

An orc can't marry an human, there's an event that will kill automatically the orc character of the mariage. We did it because of the too many interracial weddings by IA. We don't want to see gondorians or elves with orcs spouses, or semi-orcs everywhere on the map ! :D
We'll certainly work on them later, but that's not on top level in our priority list for now !

The evil races will have more flavour in the next build, with more specific events, and retinues, don't worry ;)

By the way, i'm happy to see that you like this mod, it always encourage us to work harder on it ;)

I'm glad to see you guys are so on-top of responding to these, as well. Do you guys have a homepage or forums fans can join? It'd be great if everyone who likes the mod and wants to discuss it could go to one place, rather then just a thread on the CK2 forums.

I understand about wanting to limit the cross-breeding, but I do think it should be ABLE to happen, though maybe as a big cost to your prestige, or maybe fertility. It was just jarring to be executed immediately after marrying my buddy's daughter. I think it could work as a prisoner type of thing, perhaps? If an orc lord takes a human female prisoner, I could definitely see a type of marriage working from that.

That being said, I'm glad to hear about the upcoming retinues, and events. Really loving the work you guys have done. Uruk-hai are definitely among my favorite things in the LOTR universe, and I definitely look forward to them getitng a bit more attention. Thanks for all the effort, and just know that a lot of us out here love the mod so far!

Edit: Also, I'd love to be able to get an idea of what you guys do have as top-priorities, and what we can look forward to soonest! Thanks!

We try to answer as quick as we can! You play certainly more this mod than us, as we're more testing than really playing it ;) So, the players suggestions are important for us, to improve balance, flavour, correct some little bugs...

I just posted a diary about the next update, you'll be able to see some little things about it then. We've got a forum, but not active, you can use the forum on this page if you want ;)

For the orcs/humans weddings, i noticed your suggestions, and when i'll have more free time, i'll try to work on it. Thanks guy (or girl, or whatever you're, little orc! :D)!
