An humble mod to add more randomization in the standard game Amnesia: The Bunker

Features

  • Quick start in the safe room
  • Safe room is not so safe
  • The detonator handle and the dynamite are put in random places
  • Other quest items like the chain cutters and the wrench (and others) are randomly places in the maps.
  • The generator could break in the middle of a game and of course you need to repair it to progress
  • There is no place where the Stalker could not be. Even in the tunnels!
  • Removed all the notes of the official story (I mean do you need to know for the Nth time that Lambert pissed in Henri's flask?). Added random notes to tell you where the quest items are located, plus some other notes to explain you the new features and give tips and also a bunch of classic notes.
  • No arena, after you blow up the debris, you actually escape the bunker!

Future features

  • Replace some of the classic notes with something new (just story stuff)
  • Put some dogtags code inside randomly placed notes
  • Corpses and eventually dog tags are now put in random places. They could be already burnt or not burnt, with rats eating them.
  • Random paths: randomly put obstacles or locked not breakable doors modifying the standard layout
  • Later in the game spawn Toussaint randomly in one of the maps, hunting you
  • Food and thirst system
  • Fuel cistern in random places

This mod is absolutely grand, but please don't add a "hunger/thirst" system. That just sounds like senseless micromanagement that doesn't add any fun to the game.

Like the comment below me, I also had the generator valve spawn in an area where I couldn't reach, softlocking me, as the generator valve shattered.

Edit: Also, I couldn't collect the two gas grenades in Delisle's locker once opened. The game still treats the grenades as if they're behind a closed locker. The AI for the stalker in the Roman Tunnels is a bit strange, as it'll keep entering and exiting a hole over and over.

I suggest to anyone reading this to drain the area before the Roman Tunnels, as well as opening the prison doors as soon as humanly possible to avoid a softlock, if any of that is possible.

Edit: These issues are minor, but the custom notes have some grammar and spelling mistakes, so someone should proofread those. And the officer code gets scribbled out when used for the first time, which might confuse some players, since you can use it multiple times.

Unfortunately, it is pretty easy to get softlocked if the generator valve spawns in either the ruins or the prison since both require you to have had power in order to get to those areas in the first place.

Just had a playthrough where I had the valve spawn in the prison, went back to get the generator going only to find that the valve that was already there had its event trigger already kick off and it was shattered on the floor.

I hadn't turned on the generator at all, so I couldn't open the prison or get to the final piece in the ruins, which was for me the detonator handle.
