I think it is most definitely an improvement, but you didn't fix the biggest problem with the KW Wolverine: its legs. They're impossibly skinny, and the hinged design of the things simply wouldn't work under real-world physics.

Yes it is, but the mechanics demonstrated by that video only help to prove my point. The BigDog's legs are powered by hydraulic cylinders which operate much like actual organic muscle: they contract along a strictly linear path, pulling the robot's leg with them.

By contrast, the legs of the Titan and Wolverine in KW apparently operate by magic. Observe the Wolverine's motions in this video: Youtube.com

The only way for this leg design to operate as demonstrated is for each joint to have its own motor, but there is no evidence this is the case. Even if it were, it would mean the legs are being both supported and lifted by sheer torque, which is absolute BS.
