How it started.. it was an idea of mine, after finding out the simplicity of modding Zero Hour originally..
The first SIGEN was a slight edit of the boss general, and in fact included her.. by then, it was still 'bossmod', in lack of originality... some units were overpowered, and it was all fun and games until I started to notice the PC hardly stood a chance..
We began brainstorming, getting ideas.. It took me a while to figure out how to create a new faction, but as the work on SIGEN version 2 began, I found out how, started working on the new faction, and some updates later, this was a nice full version.
But I wanted more, really. All we still were was an exact copy of the Boss General, with only minor edits.. So I started to create a bit of balance...
The result was version 3.
I was.. interested in the coding, and went furthur. I looked up on how superweapons worked, what buildings could be copied, how everything was made- The real work started, and 4 was born. No longer a clone of the boss, but truly it's own.
But.. there were bugs, small errors.. and still WAY unbalanced. What with 6 Superweapons of the same price, but 3 which were stronger, the idea came to use promotions.. Also, we had both the emperor and the normal overlord- which wasn't too smart..
So, version #5 was completed when all known bugs were ironed out, a script was made, and the playing began.. A lot of extra's were built in, bonuses were taken out.. This is the current version.
..But I dream of more. I cannot model, I couldn't draw to save my life.. I'm looking for a small team to help create a campaign, a new general's challenge, and even make sure it saves in a different directory. I want SIGEN to become a full fledged mod, removing -ALL- bugs, full scale testing, everything.
The next version will first be a release so it can work on normal Zero Hour, instead of just The First Decade's.. Then, I'll just have to start looking through the code, see what I can do, eh.
