The powerful Rhinox (or Rhinoxen) is a large fur-covered creature similar to a woolly rhinoceros, used as a beast of burden by Ogres. Gnoblars construct crude war machines drawn by these beasts and Ogres sometimes use them as mounts.
Like a horned mountain with legs, the Rhinox is a foul-tempered, enormous beast that can wreak havoc when roused. Under the control of their Ogre masters, their focused fury can be twice as devastating. A charging Rhinox rumbles like thunder, and its hooves churn the earth like an earthquake. It takes a brave man to stand against the charge of Rhinox cavalry.
what are actually the weaknesses of the ogre kingdoms? they seems to be totally overpowered!
no settlements and start with only a half stack I believe.
and later on in the game like midd- and endgame?
Mid and endgame they'll be facing elites.
Low numbers, expensive, poor starting economy, lack of very long range projectiles, middling morale. They have a lot against them.
Lack of long range projectiles? Dont they have the leedbelchers anymore, or were they reworked?
Anything you've seen is from a 3 month old early beta build. They've been reworked extensively. They still fire cannons, but it's not a long range machine gun.
Thats great news, they were brutal!
Ogre morality is bad ? Why ? That Surprises me !
They are extremely protective of their stomachs, if they get wounded in the gut their tribe will kill and/or eat them for religious reasons. Because of this it is not hard to imagine their morale being low due to the rather large targets their guts are. There's also the low model count per unit and the fact that ogres aren't very bright.
Not BAD, but not insanely high, either. Ogres aren't mindless beasts, if they see their friends dying, they'll get out of there before they're next. It's the same in the tabletop.
Okay! I understand ;) as the empire ( lever game, moral) the ogre fled in long battle ?
It depends on what you bring and how you use them. No army is unbeatable with the right strategy and units.
What's wrong about being ogrepowered?
Awesome model, but I agree with Deathwatcher27, the ogre kingdom seems to be overpowered. How are they excactly balanced for example in custom battles or multiplayer?
Exact balance isn't 100% complete, but what was stopping you from clicking on Ogres and Trolls until your money ran out in COW 1.5.1 and 1.6?
Cant argue with that haha ^^
Right now the ogres are under powered a lot. Its almost impossible to face high tier chaos armies with such low numbers.
Hm interesting, you could always up the unit numbers of the regular ogres while keeping the more special unit low in numbers. So maybe 30 ogres in a unit instead of 20 or whatever the unite scale for the ogres is at. I am sure you guys get this sorted out, while I personally do not care that much about the ogre kingdom, I do like balanced factions. :)
I don't give a damn about balance. All I care is lore. I'd like to see giant monsters obliterating entire human armies. Trying to survive as weakling humans in such scenarios would be so fun to play. And sometimes, as the monster itself.
Overpowered in 1 on 1 fights, sure, but the reality of battle is very different as they are less numerous than their foes. The Old Ones created the ogres as the ultimate weapon against chaos, except they didn't have time to finish the job.
Clearly :-)
Notice their unit sizes. They're not cheap, either, and far from invincible.
yes
Will the Ironblaster and/or Scraplauncher be a part of the mod at some point?
Possibly.
I'm not going to ask when you guys finish, take your time.
I eagerly await the release of this mod!
Keep up the good work!
What a nice and gigantic model!
And i have a question. Will this Mod have Chaos spawn?
We're working on getting Chaos Spawn in.
These things make Imperial Knights seem like Moot Riders XD I do not want to be facing this without at least 3 pieces of arty
( Also, will you be able to recruit special Moot mercenaries, like Moot Knights, maybe some Moot Guards?
We've talked about expanding it beyond the Lumpin Croop's Fighting ***** Halfling Archers, but nothing made yet.
This looks much more promising than the new CA/Sega game of similar name.
