An old optional addon for 1.0 that has been replaced by the patch. Do not install both of them together. Recommend downloading the patch instead.
This is an early addon I made for United Fronts 1.0 to fix some bugs and customize the mod to my liking. Most of the changes and fixes here have been copied over into the patch. It's not recommended to download this, and it will not work with the patch.
1.1 Changes:
Fixed custom briefings not playing on version 1.0
Fixed all weapon bugs, mainly dealing with reload sounds and sprint animations
Replaced sounds for handguns, some rifles, and Italian weapons
Added UO explosion/fire/smoke effects to CoD1 missions, no more ugly yellow flames
Changed AI weapon spawns so that there's less sniper rifle spam and fewer MGs, and increased variety of weapons in some levels
Changed ammo pickups so that rare weapons come with more ammo
Changed weapon loadouts for some missions - you start with a 30cal in Bastogne2 and can bring it with you into Foy
Changed MG34/42 magazines to 50 rounds, set fire rates for all MGs to realistic levels
Winter Wehrmacht wear two types of helmets
MG gunners have the correct gear
Changed gear for US infantry so that they're not wearing ropes on their legs
1.0 Changes:
I fixed most bugs that I found in the campaign, added missing strings, corrected some typos and sound issues.
Most weapons have new, more powerful sounds. Many sounds from my previous mod have been replaced.
Airborne, Fallschirmjagers, Waffen (normal/winter), Wehrmacht (normal/winter) have new skins.
Some German vehicles have new skins.
Airborne helmets were changed back to the original models, because Ferry's helmet skins are amazing.
Different helmet skins were added for the 3rd and 29th Infantry Division soldiers.
A few weapon skins were changed back to older versions made by Marcomix.
All weapon muzzle flashes now use the United Offensive effects.
Tracers are gone.
Installation:
Put the files in the UO folder along with the United Fronts mod.
Great=) But can you make a version with all the goodies, but with the Tracers on?
Kinda love the new changes, but I miss the Tracers =S
I separated the tracers from the rest of the mod. Just redownload this file and don't put the zzz_No_Tracers.pk3 in the UO folder.
Thank you! You are awesome!! =D
Well, it's good to have options and variety!
Could you provide a list of bug fixes?
I only found 1 major bug and that was with the Gewehr 41. These are some of the problems I solved:
Gewehr 41 crosshair didn't expand.
Gewehr 41 last shot sound was from a different weapon.
PPSh reload sounds were out of sync.
MG42 pickup didn't have a display name.
Some weapons used CoD1 effects instead of UO effects.
Some display names were misspelled.
Bugs I didn't fix:
I think the Mauser was missing reload sounds.
The American end cutscene plays after finishing Aachen and repeats itself for several missions.
That's all I can remember right now.
BUGS:
- MP38, PPSh with 35-round magazine, and M1928 Thompson don't have sprint animation.
- TT33 has 7 rounds in the magazine instead of 8.
- SVT40 does not have reloading sound at the basic CoD1 missions.
- The same goes to the DP28 firing sound.
These are my notices.
I believe the Mosin-Nagant has a firing sound similar to the M1 Garand, not sure if it is intended... Maybe not the mosin, but i definetly keep hearing M1Garand sounds during my battle of Stalingrad. Or maybe both guns had similar sounds, i have no idea
I fixed the SVT40 and DP28 sounds.
The sound I used for the Nagant might have been the M1 Garand sound in another game, I just thought it matched the reload sound well. And rifles usually don't sound very different from each other.
Ah ok... I knew I had heard that sound before... MOHAA if im not mistaken =D
Does it fix the "G_ModelIndex overflow" upon finishing Foy?
I thought i was the only one seeing that error. Seems that there are too much models in the mission Noville.
Nah... It ruins the game for me and can't complete the whole campaign. It's true, that via console I can start the next mission, but the difficulty level will be regular, which sucks.
Well, I managed to finish the campaign with this mod installed and I never got this error. Then again, I didn't play through the entire mod vanilla. I started modding it pretty early on. Maybe I fixed the problem before running into it somehow.
Since I've stucked about 2 months ago now, maybe I'm gonna fully reinstall the whole game and start all over with this addon.
for the difficulty level problem, in the main menu use /difficulty Gimp or /difficulty Easy and then load the next map :'D
Not bad but the soldier rank is Private but the uniform rank is Corporal
But not bad at all keep it up!
Sorry my bad english
Is there still now way to add gears and belt for german winters?
It's possible but I'm afraid it will cause problems with the Noville mission. That's why I didn't put them in. Last time I did it, a lot of people got errors and couldn't play that mission.
WOW!! Just WOW just redownloaded this...
Red Square+Red October Theme... EPIC of EPICS!
fix error max ammo of dp28 please
This mod is fantastic, and has many similarities to COD2's "Back 2 Fronts" Mod.
Was there any collaboration / communication between the devs from that mod? I checked the credits but couldn't cross-reference any names. Or was this more of an inspiration of this mod from it? Or not related between each other at all?
Very well done, making classical games go beyond the frontier!
Well, Marcomix is friends with MCh2207Cz, but I don't think there was any cooperation between the teams. Though United Fronts was clearly inspired by Back2Fronts as you can tell by the name.
Thanks for playing!
