This is a GoldSource project aimed to recreate Black Mesa: Source feel within Half-LIfe 1 and its assets. Our main goals for this project is to give a new feel, look to the original Half-Life, with adding more features, improved level design that many people love from Black Mesa remake but with additional things, to make it a bit more unique. Black Mesa: Classic aims to be capabile on any PC without high requiremnts, with better visuals and effects to make your Half-Life 1 campaign experience the best!
This demo only has the We've Got Hostiles chapter. It should be representative of the rest of the game, with some minor exceptions. Most of small bugs will be fixed in future.
tried launching this on linux, can't actually load into the game. I try to start a game on normal and it crashes. Easy mode doesn't even do anything when clicking play.

Played it, it had wrong credits for the animations
Me and LIL-PIF were the ones who worked on weapon animations
None of HL1X works are present in this demo
Plus new Garg animations were ones made by LIL-PIF
That aside, the demo was decent enough, though i encountered numerous bugs in my playthrough.
Grenade animations seems bugged, and plays wrong animation ingame, seems it's due to the new animations in the grenade viewmodel not being coded in the game.
Tripmines seems to be bugged as well, as they don't look like they attached to the wall, my guess it still displays Submodel1 even if deployed into the wall
I've tried the sprint mechanic, and it seems that it's a bit bugged. Which would explains that they were not originally keybinded in the demo
Also enemies deals even more damage than they used to be even on easy mode. Not sure if this is intentional, but it's definitely not balanced imo.
Barrels explosion seems a bit too small in certain areas. Some maps are incomplete and looks different from what is presented in images section
Sometimes i encountered a bug where text is just glitched, and incomprehensible to read, my guess it's the main problem with the trinity render it self.
Overall, not what was i expecting, it could've been better. But for a demo, it's understandable to have some bugs. Still had a bit fun tho.
Good work, though management needs to be better.

Finally a demo.Im very hapy right now.I played the demo its awesome but ı think you guys should bring the most of the black mesa sounds to the game.Anyways its just a demo.(and ı encountered a few bugs like when you kill someone their skin changes,and dead bodies are on the foot not on the ground ı hope you guys fix this good work!)

It will not work as intended, everything related to the modified coding stuff will be missed or broken. Maybe you'll be able to play, still.
I have Half Life CD version copy all files to C:\Sierra\Half-Life\valve but how to start? just load this level in game? or it is only steam :( mod

It's only for Steam version of Half-Life. Old HL doesn't support new graphics' features of this mod.

Sorry, sometimes i'm confused. I know that was HL1 on steam - straight conversion on source engine (HL2)
The game you're talking about is Half-Life: Source (from the name of used Source engine, not from the name of Steam gaming platform). It's incompatible with Half-Life mods. So if you see Half-Life mod, it's NOT for Half-Life: Source in any way. Steam version of Half-Life means current/modern version of Half-Life, distributed via Steam. Not the old WON/Sierra version shipped on CDs 20 years ago.
All clear I must have HL1 from Steam to play this demo. But one thing what I see on YT videos? all textures are from Black Mesa? not from original HL1? and guys if is it possible change a little saturation or hue of desert rocks to more yellow. Only my suggestion , maybe look better ?

Played the demo and was pretty cool, just want to point out some problems and bugs I had:
Tripmines floating on the walls.
Flashlight dropping my fps by half, I hope you'll optimize it and give us some options to turn off the shadows and anything that can cause loss of fps.
AI freezing during combat, I've seen this happening with vortigaunts and soldiers.
Fire door beeping while closed, destroying the glass AND pressing the button to close them can cause that.

go to the valve folder, copy the cl_dlls and dlls folders and paste it into the mod's files. im a cracked player too and i just do this when it gives me that error
im probably sure that the guy below used cracked version of HL1, which runs on commonly-available pre-SteamPipe version, and yes i also used cracked version also but using latest version available (from 2020)

Guys I noticed one thing, I watch the gameplay from this demo on yt and at the beginning like a scientist pounds on the control room glass, there should be a guard who was killed by a monster coming out of ventilation and this is not there?

Hey! This is my first mod (at least here) and I'm confused on how to play it. I've extracted the files to C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Half-Life/ a bunch of times and have even directly transferred the folder (everything combined into a folder on the desktop when I tried to extract the files) into Half-Life's folder and it still boots up the original game. What can I do to fix this?
it should be in your steam library if you installed it to your Half life folder.
I really like this. It has a lot of work put into it, and it's fun. During my playthrough, I noticed a few possible bugs:
At the very beginning, part of the scientist's dialogue cuts out.
That same scientist is unkillable. You can save him, but he is immortal to everything in your arsenal.
If you save the scientists next to the two turrets and the elevator just before the speakers go under military control, they'll get stuck in a loop of raising his hands, then putting them down and so on if you're near them (if you walk away or stay long enough the loop breaks though).
Just after, the bullsquid eating the dead scientist will get stuck in a walking loop, and only if you approach it, it'll spit acid at you.
No blood will come out of said bullsquid if you shoot it.
An armor battry behind the bullsquid is merged into the bottom of a shelf. You can get it though.
The crate on the yellow thing (the name escapes me now, but it's next to the bullsquid) and other crates in shelves make a metal noise if hit by a crowbar.
You die if you're underneath a bar while riding an elevator.
The health nor armor machines will decrease in light or anything else when depleted.
The two turrets after the first marine group fight will teleport back upright if
you already knocked them down.
The scientist who runs into the second group doesn't say his lines.
A guard in the third marine group fight (just before the outdoor section) is dead but standing.
I'll keep adding as I play.
When I try to start a new game, it plays the first half second of audio on repeat for a few times with a black screen and then crashes. does anyone know a fix?
Ah, yes, one of the most broken demos to ever exist. So many issues...
First of, the game crashed everytime i booted into a map, and i had to change some files for it to work.
Secondly, The shotgun's alt fire makes some weird circles appear, and it's normal fire, some some reason, plays the RPG fire sound
Can someone make a tutorial on how to set up the mod? i am unfortunately having trouble setting it up and there is no document to help me set it up, the only docs there was were 2 "read me"'s but one was for custom backgrounds and the other was completely unrelated , i looked on Youtube as well but the only tutorial was in full Spanish and i couldn't understand it

In the next demo there will be document on how to install mod for steam version of game, but mostly "steam-legacy" one, since new updated broke alot of code parts.
All mistakes been taken seriously this time and everything should play smooth as possible. Sorry for not responding before, we don't have people working much on moddb questions, but we'll make sure that there will be no problems ever again.
