The Weltkrieg destroyed the old world. As millions died and the map of Europe was redrawn, new radical and utopian ideologies were formed from the bitterness of defeat and turmoil of revolution. Now, decades later, their supporters on both sides of the political spectrum are defiantly preparing for a new showdown against the forces of reaction. As new powers arise to challenge the international status quo around the world, and the guardians of the old order amass equally formidable forces to defend it, the world of 1936 seems to be heading towards a turbulent future...
What is this all about?
What it says on the tin - A new alternate history scenario for HoI3. I love Kaiserreich scenario as much as the next guy, but I started my own work with the guideline of creating something bit more plausible, while still providing the players with an interesting and new alternate history scenario.
Featuring a world where things started to go on a different direction from the beginning of the century, Blue Max is a scenario beginning from January 1936 in a different world. Just like in our history there was a major world war, but many major combatants that fought in our WW1 remained neutral in this conflict, for various reasons. As a result of this and certain key people living or dying differently than they did in our world, the global situation in 1936 looks drastically different than in our timelime.
Key features of the mod in brief:
- A new 1936 scenario with interesting and volatile global situation where major powers choose their allies and seek to either challenge or alter the existing international order.
- Revised political setup that still retains the old idea of world war as a three-way struggle between three major alliances and supporters of different political ideologies.
- Revised leader traits system.
- Collaboration with RPM 2, utilizing their unit model system for alternate-history versions of tanks, ships and planes.
