Nice how many polys? i think it has too many just like your other one
7,964 Polys
waaaaaay too high
It's not necessary to have the 20 sides on the cylinders. 6 or 8 is more than enough for an RTS game. The whole tank is a waste of polys. Try to use polys as smart as possible. The more polys = worse gameplay.
im not a modder nor do i know what polys are. What are they and why is everyone worrying so much about them?
polys are Polygons, Which is something you get familiar with by learning to model
As the Polygons in a model increases, rendering these obects becomes harder for the computer & when ur playing a RTS game, you may get over 30,40 units which can be a challange to render with the computers today
So RTS games get low polygons & other games like Flight Simulator X, Half Life 2 gets more polygons for a faster gameplay that wont crash
You can learn more about modelling, by searching polygonal modelling on wiki or google
I agree it is not neccecary to have a lot of polys for round objects, you can obtain smooth surfaces using Smoothing groups. Which is why EVERY single cyclinder on this tank started as a 8 sides. None are higher then 8 sided. From first look at this, Im guessing probaly 3k of the 7k are just in the wheels alone.
If you take away the wheels (Which is how it origanaly was) and leave them as flat planes, you can just texture the wheels in and it should look fine, no need to have such a HEAVY amount of polys in the wheels.
The origanal model with out those wheels, and keep the changes that were made (like taking away the rear cage, and take away the side tubes that were once on it) your looking at 2,086 "Polys" (for 3DMax), and 4,386 Tris or "True" Poly count which is what the engine is reading.
Hmm a lot of these will definitly make it lag a bit.. But Apocs have more dont they?
Also its important to know how these vehicles are going to be viewed, If its just an above view, You can completly remove the entire underbelly of the tank, counting down a decent amount of pollys.
not really, you also got to take into account of what affects it, such as the magnetic satellite, which allows you see see the underside of units when they're sucked away.
and yuriko
PeRverT LoL
the polycount is just nice for ra3, but i can clearly see alot of sides on the cylinder O.o
C&C serisinde 5K yı geçme...
tamamdır
