Blood, released by Monolith in 1998 was one of the most popular games of all time, retaining a cult following even today. Many consider it the finest first person shooter, following the protagonist Calebs attempts to seek retribution against the God Tchernebog. It was created in the Build engine, developed by Ken Silverman. The Build engine was a DOS based 3D engine, which was capable of some very amazing effects and graphics back in its day. With Blood Source, we arere-vamping Blood and transferring it into Valves Source engine. The game and its atmosphere will be preserved, along with its pop reference and cult humor. Report RSS Progress so far

Hi guys, Just a quick run-through of what has been done so far.

Posted by on

So far, there is not a lot of obvious progress. Currently I am trying to compile images of all the Textures in the game, to recreate in higher-def textures for the Source engine. I am also revamping the Menu structure of the source engine, in order to recreate the origional game as much as possible.
This project will be extremely thorough, and will stick to the nature of the Blood series as much as possible. I feel the Source engine would make this game stand out even more.

As for obvious progress, Morningside Mortuary is almost complete, as regards the structure of the map. Some textures still have to be applied, and models have yet to be created, but the basis of the game has been laid out, so there will be no stopping the production.
Just imagine kicking that zombies head with true Havok physics? :)

Thanks for reading,
Mick.
