The first major media release for Black Mesa: Insecurity - recreation of Blue Shift using the source engine mod Black Mesa.

It has been a while since Skyms and myself have really released any info for the mod or given you guys an update on our progress so here it is, a big Media Release and a bunch of info to satiate your salivating salacity (say that three times fast).

  • First big announcement is that with the completion and release of Ilopns' fantastic model pack we now have a HD model pack to go with our mod! Along with a nicer hand model it kind of works like the old HD pack that came with Blue shift and Opposing Force back in the day which makes me all tingly and nostalgic.

  • Second bit of nice info is the mod is now playable from start to 1/3 of the way through so progress is coming along nicely. This is only two peoples work but thanks to BM's great base the mod is high quality and we are confident its going to be a lot of fun on completion.

  • Third bit of info is we are opening our doors! Slightly, only enough to let in a Choreographer and a Music artist, we are currently hiring someone well versed in the creation of Source Choreography scenes, this person should be able to prove their ability with prior work before we then test them with something for BMI, and finally the music artist need also be able to show us previous work and be able to make music in the style of Black Mesa's fantastic soundtrack. If you are interested message Skyms here on Moddb!

Now finally, i'll let our screenshots do the talking, although I know you already skipped this and have already checked them out but I hope you at least jumped back up here for this write right up.
Thanks for all the support and suggestions guys keep discussing and pitching ideas in one of our various threads, on Facepunch, on the BM Forums or even here MODDB.

Sincerely, ZeRo and Skyms.

Lovely work. Like for all Hl2 hl1 remake mods I can barely wait to test out yours. One word of advice also implement a little bit your own Style just like Black Mesa did you don't have to follow the book precisely 100%.

Wishes: Would like to see some Black Mesa choppers which could be used for some scripted sequences outside the players reach. Something like seen in this hl1 mod:

There is already a large Blue Shift remake with the source engine in production. But hey, the more the merrier, you show great skill with mapping that this could turn out unique and enjoyable in it's own way! :D
