Yup, more intense lights and shadows like that, really creates a nice mood.
I don't even remember this part. I just vaguely remember a few HL1 "hanging object" sections where the object in question could be moved by a wheel, but otherwise didn't move from in-game physics.
You know these redone chambers are starting to remind me of the -perhaps less than safe- tests in the Portal franchise.
Well in the original room, there was a bridge that basically just rotated 90 degrees when you turned the wheel. BORING.
My version in this room uses physics to hang from the ceiling and swing around and twist and all that jazz. Much more fun! :P
And in yours it doesn't look like you could easily skip it by long-jumping.
Good to know that I am not the only one to do that. I find it real sad every time I make it to this part, I always long-jumped saying "Screw it, I don't have the time for valves!"
Hopefully this one is not as slow.

Maybe it's just me, but the bridge seems like it has a little too much hazard striping. It might be better to just have it on the top and bottom.
