Summary
Classic BF2 Vanilla feel, but now with realistic HD look, increased immersion and replaced the crappy infantry game play for a realistic 2018 model. Which for me, was the only thing that always sucked in BF2.

- Codes, useless folders and files were cleaned up. Total full game size of only 6.8GB using 1.7GB of ram (needs 1.5GB+ videocard)

When loading a map, two textures give errors. If I'm not mistaken, then these textures are in the effects and have a size of more than 16 mb. So that there are no stops when loading a map, you need to reduce the size of these textures to 16 mb.
We played all the maps in a row without any problem, it does need more than 2GB Vram for High settings
My computer has a Intel® Core™ i5-6500 processor, a 4GB RX470 graphics card and 16GB of RAM. When loading maps on textures, there were always two stops and you need to press enter. Now version BFHD_Gold2. Bugs with textures fixed?
try using the 7-zip or windows explorer to unzip the folder, winrar is problematic.
This mod looks awesome! i recently started watching again BF2 mods. Is this a standalone mod? Or do i need the game installed?
BFHD_GOLD is an independent Battlefield 2 mod and has its own installer. For a single player game, I would advise replacing BF2 Moddb.com for choosing weapons.

I have an issue with the base game where the game wont get past the black loading screen. No intro or anything. Just crashes. I can give my specs if it helps. Maybe you could make a video tutorial on how to download to make sure im doing it right as text instructions can be a little harder to follow. I am thinking on downloading this but im not taking up anymore space on my computer unless there is a good chance i can actually play :(

It worked for me and I could download at full speed from EU mirrors. Try the solution by oyvindhauge. This should work even if you do not have Hamachi installed.
My maps won't load. Once it starts loading textures at 89% it just freezes and stops loading...please help...

most weapons have no crosshair?
Now, I'm not trying to be rude or something, but I'm questioning quite a few decisions in this mod:
1. Not enough magazines - 4 mags for most weapons is not enough. SCAR has 20 rounds per mag - which is IMO not enough. (I think the standard for US Army is 6 mags for an M4 and 8 mags for SCAR, but I'm not sure). Maybe the mod maker tried to make the support class more important, but still not enough ammo.
2. USMC should have an M4 instead of SCAR as the main weapon for assault - you could give SCAR to Special forces class instead(personal suggestion).
3. USMC sniper class has and 4x scope (should have a longer one like 6x or 8x).
4. Shotguns are (IMO) overpowered - if the mod maker tried to make the shotgun realistic - then you should either give them slug(1 round) rounds or the ones which have only 3 (bigger) pellets per shell. The damage is too big and breaks the balance(IRL the pellets would bounce off the kevlar vest).
5. I'm not sure if this is a single-plyer or multi-player oriented mod, but the AI is horrible(don't remember the ai to be this bad in original BF2, might be wrong tho) - ai leaves tanks and vehicles in the middle of a fight, tanks and apcs are always stuck on some bridge, ai ignores planes(on some maps), ai is downright broken on amphibious maps.
Despite these issues, I still enjoy the mod. Continue the good work and make it even better. Other than the listed issues I have no problem with other things in this mod.
Now for things that I like in this mod: crawling animations, weapon animations and textures, gunplay (and I could continue for hours, so let's end it here).
Now THAT's some constructive feedback, although I'm afraid the mod reached its final version, so I don't think the weapons will be changed again.

Thank you, weapons were balanced through lots of multiplayer sessions, but they still relative to real ones in energy drop, reach, bullet velocity, mass and drop as the real counter parts, while maintaining the closest as possible game play factor with BF2 vanilla.
Scopes do have an engine limitation while using zoom shaders, we could either make it awfully pixelated or zoom a lot the entire scenary wich sux for the 3D Scopes.
Ai is similar to original, but yes most of the 64 maps didn't have a water patch ans those are one of the most painfully thing to build from the ground, I've only made it for 2 maps and took me a month.
Fact is, the maps for singleplayer are much more complex than in original one, with 64 players, lots of vehicles and the best part is those were all multiple time tested and all stable and that also took a lot of time to achieve. Some Rally point AI is intended to leave the vehicles and fight for the spot, it makes the fight for infantry more interesting.

BF2 was my childhood and it makes me sad, that engine is limited so much. And despite that, you managed to create something this great. Thank you.
