Happy Holidays from the Battle Grounds 2 development team!
Development for Battle Grounds 2 is still alive and kicking and several months ago we were pleased to welcome two new members to our team. Visual Melon and Awesome, who helped us tackle coding and mapping respectively. With their help, and the assistance of several other talented people, we are very excited to announce that we have an update for the mod releasing on December 19th, 2013! This update, designated 2.2, fixes bugs, updates textures and models and adds several new, exciting features to the game. Two of the updates will be featured now, with many more featured in new updates in the upcoming days to release, so stay tuned!
First is the addition of a new capture the flag map. Originally created by tomigun_CZ as a 3rd party map for BG 2.0, with his permission we have updated and polished the map and are pleased to add it to our map rotation for 2.2
Secondly we are pleased to announce our new uniform selection options. Now you have the freedom of choice in a selection of dashing new uniforms for King George's army, or fighting for liberty and justice as a handsome Continental soldier.
Our options include the classic blue facings for the British, and the all new yellow facings.
For the Americans we are pleased to offer a range of uniforms, from an updated classic blue and red combination, to a white and blue uniform, and the new solid brown uniform coat, based on New England troops.

Are Bots available? :)
Yes, just type in cnsole bot_add
Bots are already available. Turn on "sv_cheats 1", then do "bot_add n" in console. The bots are pretty stupid though.

I'm really happy that you have added to my map into the next version of BG2. According to the pictures I can tell you that her perfectly polished. Earlier I wrote to BG forum, I'm going to substantiate battle "Battle of Guilford Courthouse" 15 March 1781st. Fate had it but did not want and my computer broke down and I lost all data. But when I see the effort on the part of BG and I plan to once again plunge into the SDK. Perhaps I can hand out this map under the tree. Thanks BGDev. and all players.

BG2 community is still alive and active. Despite not many clans stay at the mod /game/, there are still Linebattles and skirmish clan matches, some public events like: Battle for The Colonies, skirmish championshis, Indian Raids, sieges, public Linebattles.

After all these years it still holds up as a very fun to play mod, which is the reason, no doubt, that there are still many people playing it.
BG 2.2 will involve modified buckshot. In 2.1.1 there are 10 pieces of shot. We are reducing the number (probably to 6) and raising the damage each piece does. The overall damage will be slightly less, but still lethal if you get a solid shot on someone. It will be slightly harder to kill someone with buckshot, but it will still be useful if you know the right aim and distance to pull the trigger.
Testing currently (for those interested in what we're up to testing):
Bess Carbine- fires 6 pieces of shot. 4 pieces to the chest are lethal. A chest shot for each piece will deal 25 points of damage.
Fowler- fires 6 pieces of shot. 5 pieces to the chest are lethal. A chest shot with each piece will deal 22 points of damage. The shot has slightly more useful range than the carbine but does less damage overall.
