Adds more provinces, all horde factions now start as hordes and Alemannii are now a horde faction. Includes Rebel Commander so you can play as the Romano-British, Slavs, Eastern/Western pretenders (check their campaign description on how to play as them). Ostrogoths now start on the map.

Hello and thank you so much for making this mod for BI.
I think BI is the best TW game there is.
After looking over all the new units and playable factions you have added to the game I'm utterly shocked. Can't wait to get going.

I have one problem though, and that is when I start a campaign no matter which faction I choose the game crashes. Is it possible to upload some list of how to install the files correctly into BI? Or are there maybe some files I should delete in order for the new ones to work.

Again, thank you so much for this mod! :D <3

Hey what's up! Thanks for the great mod, i like the concept very much. Could you possibly upload a file where all the barbarian factions are not all hordes already at the start of the campaign but have some territory as in vanilla bi? except for vandals and huns.

thank you

I really thought that BI needs something like this. I searched for it and bam! found this, just what we needed.
Although there is a bit of problem, when I extracted all thing from "data" folder to "data" folder in BI, I start BI.exe and it crashes. So is there anything else I should do to fix this, and also I deleted previous saves because I assume it is not save compatible.

For those who have same problem this is how I solved it...
I extracted files from Barbarian Invasion Expanded 1.0 (full version) to new folder. Then go to BI folder and delete 4 folders with the same name as those 4 I got from extractor. And after that I move those 4 I got to BI folder and now it works.

And must not forget I think this really improved original Barbarian Invasion. Great work Khorps!!!

so I renamed folder "Expandbi" to "bi" and, added two folders -replays, saves- in "bi" and it worked. Thank you.

Ok tried it and the only thing I can say is that it's unbalanced

- the AI has something of a fixation for Sirmium(Had 3 hordes attack it and then the romans whom i bought it from decided they wanted it back and brought a full stack to take it back) and as the goths I was pretty much constantly attacked for it by 4 factions I couldn't possibly destroy on my own. I even managed to repel 2 full stacks of Roxolanii before they sent their remaining 4
-the saxons seems nerfed as in severely so. Idk what you did to them but in all my campaigns they never seemed to even care about expanding beyond 1 or 2 settlements besides their original and when I played them the franks seemed to go straight for my capital to take me out.
-Being roman is pain. In 2 of my campaigns had SEVERAL hordes all going for them and pillaging everything they could. In all my campaigns the WRE gaul and northern africa seemed to melt as they got pillaged and then they barely held out in Iberia and Italy by the skin of their teeth, yet they still decided to attack me (I was ERE), while the ERE pretty much half of Asia Minor had their defense fully committed to holding Egypt and were holding greece from the Barbarian by the skin of their teeth having lost Constantinople several times and had even given up on Sirmium after losing it for the 4th time
-The Sassanids are pretty OP as they don't get to deal with any invader and their only enemy are the ERE who have to defend greece from their own Barbarian hordes and can just stomp through the very valuable cities in the east.

All in all, it truly brings the true Barbarian Invasion feeling we all love and I thank you for it.

The only thing I would truly like to see is if you could get one of the hordes to go smack some Zoroastrian *** and possibly get more units to some of the faction with very types of units?

Also just had a thought... Could you get different factions to have access to all religious building trees? As in to be able to get Zoroastrian celts that would be
hilarious... If that's not possible would you at least make it that the roman can build their level 5 religious temples from the RTW?

I'll add more crossings at Sirmium, or maybe change the city altogether, it is a very cramped location. Saxons, never experienced that, but most campaigns I just let the AI do its thing, so I'll try a few as the Saxons.

Yeah it's supposed to be that difficult for the Romans, I noticed in vanilla that the barbarians in the West rarely got anywhere in conquering the WRE, the Burgundians & Lombards would expand East and the Franks would not be that aggressive and get smashed by later Roman units. Alemanni were the only ones willing to conquer Roman territory in the West early on. The way I think the game is designed judging by history is that the Huns are supposed to displace the German tribes so they go for Rome, but they usually maybe displace the Sarmatians and Goths before burning out in Greece. So I'm glad it's much more difficult. I'm thinking I'll change the date though so Rome doesn't get sacked in the late 4th century. What do you think? 370, 385 maybe?

They're much more of a threat, AI-wise the Sassanids seem to have a 50/50 chance of beating the ERE/losing to the ERE according to my campaigns. Historically the Balkans were very depopulated and razed by the Visigoths and Huns. Player-wise I can offer some advice, build lots of troops in Constantinople, reconquer Moesia and Greece and focus on fighting the Sassanids.

I've seen the Huns sack a Sassanid city in Armenia once, and one time (or maybe two I forget) they went for Neocaesarea, but the Huns then just went in circles. I was thinking to make new Hunnic armies North of the Caucasian mountains, but the AI hordes like to stick together so they'd probably just all congregate in the Steppe and then pick a direction. Still I'll experiment with that idea, can't really force them to go to war with the Sassanids, but I can make it more probable.

Units-wise, I'm working on another mod right now, and units are very time consuming to make, so give me some ideas and I'll add something when I have a releasable version of the other mod.

I'll do both, sounds like a fun idea and I doubt the AI will convert that far away with zero influence so it gives the player more liberty.

Thanks for the feedback.

What mod are you working on? Also can't you ask for permission and port units from other mods? Or add some barbarian units from Normal Rome?

It's a mod about late 5th century Britain with Anglo-Saxons, King Arthur and stuff, I'll be releasing more information on it soon. Both are possible and I think the Berbers could use more units, the Alemanni are lacking a unique unit.
