Music pack
This music pack was made by Hross af Guttenburg for the Rome Total War mod Arthurian Total War, but can (and should!) be adapted for use by other mods.
Music score compiled (see credits below for artists) and campaign map ambient tracks edited and mastered by Hross af Guttenburg.
Campaign map features Latin, Gaelic and Old English poetry and prayers of pagan and christian backgrounds. Some of the songs are very old: some of the Icelandic/Old Norse songs are from the early medieval period and some might date as far back as the 8th century, which is the case with the Anglo-Saxon lyrics. Some of the Latin songs are actually completely historically accurate and date very far back indeed. Several artists such as Gjallarhorn and Cappercaillie sing original songs that sound ancient but are in fact from the last few decades. Due to the volume of music required it has been impossible for me to find so many tracks which date specifically back to the period in which the mod in set, however without aiming for complete historical accuracy but a general feeling of being true to those times and the cultures these civilisations arose from I think I have managed to conjure up some of the grit and glory of those times and those peoples without losing too much of the magic and mystery that they deserve to be regarded with. Waes thu hael!
