Apotheosis has rapidly progressed since our last update. The following trailer showcases completed environments in the Dreamsleeve, Battlespire, and many realms of Oblivion as well convey the general mood we're going for. We've also included a teaser of a few of the bossfights that await you in Apotheosis. We're nearing completion in the level design front, and will moving on to quest and NPC implementation soon.

Apotheosis is expected to launch in 2018 on Nexusmods, Moddb and Bethesda.net for Legendary Edition (PC) and later that year for Skyrim Special Edition (PC/Xbox).


Current Status
13/16 realms of Oblivion are complete, the hub world of Dreamsleeve roughly twice the size of Solstheim from the Dragonborn DLC, and parts of Battlespire.

Many of the realms of Oblivion are large exploratory levels involving overworlds and a plethora of things to discover, while others focused unique experiences that are more experimental.

Ashpits, Hunting Grounds, Attribution Share, Chimera of Desolation (Deadlands), Coldharbor, Moonshadow and Apocrypha are on the larger side and rival the size of a few Skyrim holds each. Smaller realms offer a focused, unique and more experimental approach.

These levels are complete; this means landscaping, points of interest, enemy encounters and bosses, gameplay logic and scripting, new art assets and models, navmesh, lod, traps, and interiors all done within these locations. On top of that, we have developed a lot of new assets, armors, weapons, spells, creatures, an original soundtrack and high quality recorded NPC dialogue.

What Remains

  • Completing Vaermina's Quagmire, the Realm of Clavicus Vile and Namira's Scuttling Void.
  • Finalizing quest and NPC implementation.
  • QA.

Design and Vision
Apotheosis leaves progression to the player. You are given the ultimate goal of assembling the Heart of Lorkhan, but the means in which you do it, and where you go is left to the player to decide.

You awaken in the Dreamsleeve, home of the souls of the dead, recycled into new life. The Dreamsleeve slowly feeds on it's inhabitants being; their memories and sense of self are slowly drained till all is left is a husk of their former selves. Gradually, the soul goes hollow.

The Dreamsleeve functions as the hub world in Apotheosis.

At the center of the Dreamsleeve is the Cathedral of the Final Hour, a mecca where the souls of the dead congregate to preserve their memories. The Cathedral acts as the player's homebase, much in the same way as Firelink Shrine operates in the Souls games. From here, you embark in all directions in search of Oblivion Gates into the realms of the Daedra.

You can tackle any of the 16 Oblivion gates in any order, at your leisure, encountering people with their own stories, quests and motivations along the way, discovering ruined cities, villages, artifacts and more. You will need to explore, optimize the use of abilities, weaknesses and resistances against the various creations of Oblivion, in the ultimate purpose of obtaining the Heart of Lorkhan. Achieving this goal may entail defeating the 16 Lords of Oblivion, but there are other ways.

It all really does sound incredible. Out of curiosity, you mention that some of the smaller worldspaces are more experimental/unique in their structure. Anything else you can tell us about that, or is it something better left a surprise?

They revolve around more of a special mechanic. For example, in the Evergloam, you have to flood the level with water progressively to progress, Colored Rooms involves solving a musical puzzle, etc.
