You wake up in your great, great grandpa Harry's mansion and don't remember anything. You wake up and need to find a way out. But... as you look around, you feel something following you...

Positives:

- Some creativity here and there
- A lot of potential for future chapters, if developer continues to learn

Negatives:

- Pretty much everything is average, or slightly below/above it

Level design: 6/10

For a first mod, the lightning is actually not that bad. The use of billboards was surprisingly well made. However, having a bunch of windows in a room, add lots of lights around the windows, but keep the rest of the room dark as hell, feels weird. Regardless, the overall design got better from map to map, and to me, the levels are slightly better than your average beginner mod. Well put together, good lightning (besides the lack of boxlights), but nothing really unique.

Story: 3/10

The plot is very cliché "waking up without knowing where you are" stuff. Not only is it cliché, but you barely made a story at all really. I found three notes and two of them puzzle related. The story is not bad. Grammar is alright and you clearly tried, but I want to see more storytelling in the next chapter.

Puzzles: 3/10

Barely any puzzles in the mod at all. Thankfully, at least you tried some new ideas here and there, but it was way too easy to solve them.

Music & Atmosphere: 7/10

Pretty good actually. Cellar map built up the tension pretty well, you used music that fits each map and it was honestly better than I expect a beginner modder to do. You had some scares as well, but they got somewhat repetitive and monster encounters became more predictable. Still, for a beginner, it was good I think.

Creativity: 4/10

Creativity is where I bring up things I think are worth mentioning, like unique ideas. While the maps felt mostly basic, the fact that the cellar grunt actually never went away (I tried making him despawn, and he spawned again when I went back to that area), your attempt at making some riddles for puzzles in notes and the idea of breaking boards with a rock instead of the old classic hammer/saw was fun to see. Put your creative mind to the plot and design as well and you may have a nice future mod.

Bugs & Flaws: 8/10

In the dungeon, I could throw a box on the padlock and it broke. I still had to "break the padlock" to proceed. Mementos do not disappear when not needed anymore. Not a huge issue in this mod, but not only is it easy to fix, but if your mod was longer, then mementos we no longer need could take up a lot of space and maybe even confuse the player. However, I had no other issues playing this mod.

Conclusion:

For a new modder, you are actually not that bad. You show potential here. In chapter 2, work longer on the plot, try to be even more creative and don't rush things. Making unique and beautiful mods take a long time. I'm sure you can make a mod like that, if you keep practising and take your time in the future.

Finished this custom story.

Positives:
-Averagely great level design, excluding the first map
-Many puzzles to solve

Negatives:
-Very cliché-end storyline

Storyline: ✕

Cliché "wake up and don't remember anything". 3/10

Level design: ✔

Although the first map was actually pretty bland and undetailed, the other maps were just fine! Cellar looked actually very good as well as the dungeon. Archives was a little more bland but otherwise great. 7/10

Puzzles: ✔

Great great great! Perhaps a little bit too much of key quest and the puzzles being too easy, but otherwise I enjoyed every single of these. I especially liked the "rock-to-planks" quest with the non-despawning monster. 8/10

Scare factor: ~

Some areas had scary music and few scares here and there, monster encounters were basic, it was all pretty basic so, 6/10

Overall:
Short and enjoyable mod. This creator has so much potential.

Score: 6/10 - Enjoyable

story and gameplay was lacking, but it had even decent mapping at points, although generally empty, generic quests and monster encounters. scares were not really unexpected, and it was very easy to figure out the puzzles. at least some atmosphere was set up by music and good use of lightning and bilboards at points. 5/10, not bad start, let's see how much you improved on your next mod which i see is already out now!

Creative.

Agree Disagree

Basically, there are not any puzzle to solve. Some missing elements, but for a beginner it's ok (for now...) Technically there is some potential, the scripting works well. Now, all this one, must evolve to sometingh to unique, much well done than this, with more details, puzzles and an interesting story.
