This Alien: Isolation mod has been designed initially for personal use and increases view, hearing, AI and damage caused by the enemies of the game. The alien with this mod will be searching in the ventilation ducts also used by you, will hear walking in an adjoining room, and will be alarmed just try to peek from a hiding place for a few moments in excessive. Some ridiculous hidings will not work anymore; for example between chairs or low objects, and hiding under tables and benches will be much less effective if you do not hide you well. Some other changes are: a realistic backpack that can hold a few items, the increased cost of crafting for medicament and equipment, more difficult minigames, the increase of flamethrower consumption, the damage against alien with some equipment and more. For installation, just download the archive below and unpack the contents in the game folders.

Does that work for main campaign as well?

To this mod must not be added files and settings of other mods because this can cause malfunctions in the events and in the A.I. This mod doesn't need any addition to work correctly. If you want help, replace the files of the "Insane Mod" with those in the "easier version" folder included in rar package; you will attract less attention of the enemies and can repel the alien with 4 / 6 revolver bullets at medium / long distance.

Tried this with the Unpredictable Alien mod, but sadly it causes my game to crash in several places; first, the transition from mission 1 to 2 (EVA walk to Sevastopol), next was walking in after unlocking the locked baggage claim gate with Axel. As this has constantly happened with this particular mod, I sadly won't be able to use it for the time being.

hi, love some of the ideas in the mod but not a terribly big fan of insane difficulty. mainly just like the idea that the alien can now use the same vents you do. any chance you can release a version that removes limits on the alien's behavior without increasing other difficulty factors? (or at least tell me which files allow for the alien to use crawlspaces/vents)
thanks!

in some further testing, i got in the first vent on the left in survivor mode and watching the motion tracker, it seemed the alien made a beeline for that particular vent not too long after. on a second try, the alien again made a beeline to the vent, but then disappeared, reappearing outside the vent exit when i moved to leave, killing me. might need some tweaking but i'll test some more. fantastic work btw, before you could sit in the vents all day and the alien wouldn't know what to do.

also saw an AI editing tool on here (moddb) so might use that to tweak some of this more to my liking.

EDIT: another few test runs and the alien definitely seems to be making a beeline for whatever vent you're in, at least when tested on the first vent in survivor mode. will try others to see if this is still the case (maybe its the motion tracker? doubt it though, will test)

I think it was mostly due to lore reasons that the alien doesn't use vents much. Axel introduces the player to the vents as means to survive and it seems they tried to stick with that. In the DLCs and on Nightmare difficulty it is more free to use the vents, though once on Normal in the mission where you need to replace a cylinder for the elevator I went underneath the group of survivors through that big crawlspace with a flare and when I was almost at the exit I heard steps behind me that were not my own...
Every time I got a little too cocky - like running around waiting for the train after Axel's death - the game had a surprise for me, telling me that it *could* make me reload the last save, but it doesn't have to as long as I behave and hide behind a crate.
